TATA 1 MG is seeking a proactive Fleet Manager to lead rider recruitment, onboarding, and fleet operations across assigned territories. This role focuses on building a strong rider base, ensuring smooth last-mile delivery, and improving rider performance, compliance, and retention.

You will drive onboarding, training, and engagement programs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet hiring and dispatch targets. A strong emphasis on accountability and cost control is essential.

Qualificações

  • Oversee training, performance management, and retention of riders.
  • Manage daily operations to ensure on-time, reliable order fulfillment.
  • Ensure COD collection, reconciliation, and timely settlements.
  • Collaborate with growth, city supply, and hub ops teams to meet targets.
  • Monitor KPIs: onboarding targets, funnel conversions, attrition, OPD.
  • Maintain recruitment trackers and performance logs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, labor, and financial processes.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive and result-driven Fleet Manager to lead rider recruitment, onboarding, and fleet operations. This role focuses on building a strong rider base, ensuring smooth last-mile delivery, and improving overall rider performance, compliance, and retention across assigned territories.


Key Responsibilities

1. Rider Recruitment & Onboarding


  • Source riders through field hiring, referrals, job portals, and localized catchment campaigns.

  • Screen candidates and strictly verify mandatory KYC, vehicle, and driving documents.

  • Explain job role, payout models, earning potentials, COD procedures, and company safety policies.

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding, including delivery app installation and initial account setup.


2. Training & Performance Management


  • Train riders on app usage, delivery workflows, customer service standards, and COD handling protocols.

  • Provide hands-on field coaching, periodic retraining, and route/area guidance.

  • Monitor early-stage rider performance (first 30 days) to actively curb initial drop-offs.


3. Fleet & Operations Management


  • Manage daily rider operations to ensure seamless, on-time, and reliable order fulfillment.

  • Track rider availability, shift attendance, slot booking, and login adherence in real time.

  • Drive delivery efficiency and improve productivity metrics (Orders Per Day - OPD).


4. Cash on Delivery (COD) Management


  • Ensure strict adherence to COD collection, handling, and deposit guidelines.

  • Monitor daily cash collection, reconciliation, and timely financial settlements.

  • Minimize COD discrepancies, shortages, or delays, and enforce strict accountability.


5. Rider Engagement & Retention


  • Maintain regular touchpoints and engagement forums with the rider fleet.

  • Address and resolve rider grievances swiftly in coordination with central operations and HR teams.

  • Design and drive local engagement initiatives to foster retention and control fleet attrition.


6. Team Collaboration & Leadership


  • Work closely with growth, city supply, and hub operations teams to meet hiring and dispatch targets.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate rider leads and ground teams to exceed operational milestones.


7. Reporting & Compliance


  • Maintain daily recruitment trackers, fleet roster dashboards, and performance logs.

  • Monitor and report critical operational metrics including hiring targets, funnel conversions, and attrition rates.

  • Ensure strict compliance with legal, labor, operational, and financial processes.


8. Cost & Budget Management


  • Support payout structure planning, incentive design, and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Manage recruitment budgets, cost per hire (CPH), and overall city fleet operational expenditure.

Requirements & Qualifications


  • Experience: 3 to 5+ years in fleet management, rider hiring, last-mile logistics, or field recruitment (E-commerce / Quick-commerce / Food Delivery preferred).

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline; MBA / PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain is preferred.

  • Field Hiring & Onboarding: Proven track record in ground sourcing, vendor management, and mass-scale onboarding.

  • Leadership & People Skills: Strong capability to motivate, manage, and engage large ground fleets.

  • Problem Solving: Target-driven mindset with strong analytical ability to handle day-to-day operational bottlenecks.

  • Local Expertise: High familiarity with local city geography, hub catchments, and regional languages (Kannada/Telugu/Hindi/English).
