Job summary

Workspend Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented US Finance Executive to join our growing finance team. This entry-level role focuses on AP/AR processes to ensure accurate transactions and timely invoicing, aligned with US accounting standards.

You will handle invoice processing, three-way matching, expense reports, and billing to US clients while supporting cash application and collections efforts. The role suits freshers or juniors aiming to build a career in US accounting from India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0 to 1 year of accounting experience; internship preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits/credits and AP/AR cycles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP or VMS is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Willingness to work US night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Invoice processing, three-way matching, and entry of vendor invoices.
• Review and process employee expense reports per policy.
• Billing and invoicing to US clients; cash application of payments.
• Monitor collections and resolve client billing queries or discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor files and client ledgers; assist in month-end close.

Job Overview

Workspend is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated US Finance Executive to join our growing finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for freshers or junior professionals with up to one year of experience who want to build a career in US accounting and corporate finance. You will focus primarily on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accurate financial transactions, timely invoicing, and efficient cash flow management in alignment with US accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Invoice Processing: Receive, verify, and accurately enter vendor and supplier invoices into the accounting system.
• Three-Way Matching: Match purchase orders, receiving reports, and vendor invoices to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Expense Reports: Assist in reviewing and processing employee expense reports in compliance with company policies.
• Payment Support: Assist in preparing weekly/monthly vendor payment cycles (ACH, Wire, Checks).

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Billing & Invoicing: Generate and distribute accurate invoices to US clients based on contract terms and service delivery logs.
• Cash Application: Record daily incoming payments (Wire, ACH, Checks) and accurately allocate them to open customer invoices.
• Collections Support: Monitor aging accounts receivable reports and politely follow up with clients via email or phone regarding overdue balances.
• Dispute Resolution: Help investigate and resolve client billing queries or discrepancies.

General Accounting & Reporting

• Data Maintenance: Maintain organized digital financial records, vendor files, and client ledgers.
• Reconciliations: Assist in reconciling bank statements, AP/AR ledgers, and credit card accounts at month-end.
• Audit Support: Provide documentation and support during internal or external financial audits.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com / BBA / M.Com / MBA Finance).
• Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience in accounting. Prior internship or exposure to US accounting, AP, or AR is highly preferred.
• Core Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles (Debits/Credits, General Ledger, AP/AR cycles).
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables). Exposure to accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) or VMS platforms is a plus.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, as you will interact directly with US teams and clients.
• Attributes: High attention to detail, strong data entry accuracy, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work in US operational shifts (Night Shift).
