This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Specialist based in India.
This is an opportunity to support finance operations across both US and India entities within a growing SaaS environment.
The role combines accounting, financial close, payroll, reporting, compliance, and consolidated financial activities.
You will maintain accurate financial records while supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
The position offers exposure to US GAAP as well as Indian accounting and statutory requirements.
You will collaborate with finance colleagues, managers, auditors, tax advisors, and US-based stakeholders across time zones.
The role also provides opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and contribute to efficient finance operations.
This is a remote position suited to a detail-oriented finance professional who values ownership, accuracy, and continuous learning.
Accountabilities
- Maintain accurate books of accounts for the US entity in accordance with US GAAP, including transaction recording, ledger maintenance, and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, foreign exchange adjustments, and bank, credit-card, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with consolidated financial reporting for US and India entities, including intercompany reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice validation, approval routing, vendor coordination, and payments.
- Support US payroll and Employer of Record processing while maintaining working knowledge of India payroll requirements.
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with established policies.
- Assist with audit and tax preparation by developing schedules, gathering documentation, and coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Apply knowledge of Indian statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, PF, PT, ROC, and FEMA, to support local finance activities.
- Maintain finance transactions and records using systems such as NetSuite, Ramp, Rippling, and Carta.
- Maintain process documentation, close checklists, and shared trackers to support consistent finance operations across entities.
- Identify and implement process improvements while adhering to internal controls and established accounting procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CA, CA Inter, or an MBA in Finance is preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 1 year of hands‑on US accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, particularly for financial close, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Indian accounting practices and statutory compliance, including GST, TDS, PF, PT, and ROC.
- Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms such as QuickBooks or Xero.
- Familiarity with expense-management platforms such as Ramp and payroll systems such as Rippling; exposure to Carta is an advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong ability to work with financial data and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and financial controls.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and take ownership of assigned activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when working with US-based stakeholders.
- Comfortable collaborating across teams, functions, and international time zones.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, improve processes, and adapt to evolving business requirements.
