Job summary

Blissclub in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned Material Sourcing Lead to drive strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, and cost optimization for fabrics across synthetic and woven categories. You will collaborate with Product Development, Design, Merchandising, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure timely, innovative, and sustainable material solutions that scale with the brand's growth.

Qualifications

10 year and above of experience in Fabric Development & Sourcing.
Strong knowledge of knitting, weaving, dyeing, and finishing.
Expertise in synthetic, cotton, jersey, and woven fabrics.
Experience in fabric development, sourcing, costing, and negotiations.
Strong supplier management and collaboration skills.
Passion for innovation, R&D, and market trends.

Responsibilities

Develop and strengthen sourcing ecosystem for materials.
Lead commercial negotiations to optimize quality, price, lead times.
Collaborate with Product Development, Design, Merchandising, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Monitor supplier performance and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity.

Strong expertise in synthetic knits and woven with wide network of mills across SWA and SEA
Develop and strengthen the sourcing ecosystem to support business sourcing objectives, ensuring access to competitive, innovative, and scalable material and component solutions.
Build and manage strategic partnerships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, driving material and component development aligned with product, quality, cost, and speed-to-market requirements.
Lead commercial negotiations for materials and components to achieve optimal quality, pricing, lead times, and supply security while supporting margin objectives.
Monitor supplier performance, capacity, and technical capabilities, implementing development plans to elevate quality standards, innovation, and operational excellence.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Design,Merchandising, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material strategies support business growth and customer expectations.
Proactively identify sourcing risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply, compliance, and long-term business resilience including local availability of fabrics.

Innovation & R&D Leadership

Drive material and product innovation by identifying emerging technologies, benchmark global market trends, fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes that create a competitive advantage for the brand.
Establish and maintain comprehensive digital and physical material libraries, ensuring visibility of available developments, innovations, and sourcing opportunities across the organization.
Build a structured R&D pipeline focused on performance, comfort, sustainability, cost optimization, and consumer-centric innovation.
Lead concept-to-commercialization initiatives, ensuring successful translation of innovation into scalable and profitable products.
Drive rapid prototyping, material validation, and wear-testing programs to accelerate product development and reduce time-to-market.
Develop strategic innovation partnerships with mills, suppliers, research institutes, and technology providers to create a sustainable innovation Ecosystem.
