Job summary

KBR, Inc. in India is seeking an Expediter responsible for procuring building materials and ensuring timely delivery to project sites through the production cycle. Under supervision, you will monitor changes, coordinate with procurement, logistics, and suppliers to meet schedules, and support fabrication efforts.

The role requires engineering background and 2–10 years EPC/manufacturing experience. You will review plots, layouts, and drawings, work with cross-functional teams, and apply HS&E

Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate/ diploma in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Production with 2–10 years of experience preferably in EPC/Manufacturing of Modular construction.
  • Experience with Plot Plan, Layouts, GADs etc. Must be capable of reviewing 3D models, manufacturing drawings and procedures.
  • Understanding of the Engineering Design and Interface issues.
  • Knowledge of Materials of Construction, various manufacturing and local codes, Electrical & Instrumentation, Piping, logistics, Insulation, Refractory, Mechanical Equipment / Package and painting etc.
  • Understanding of contractual and commercial documents for scope of work and liability.
  • Must be capable of aligning with customers and other project stake holders and perform in the best interest of the organization.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams including production, quality control, procurement, and logistics.

  • Must have technical knowledge for Material of construction, various manufacturing and local codes, Electrical & Instrumentation, Piping, logistics, Insulation, Refractory, Mechanical Equipment / Package and painting etc.
  • Understanding of contractual and commercial documents for scope of work and liability.
  • Must be capable of aligning with customers and other project stake holders and perform in the best interest of the organization.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams including production, quality control, procurement, and logistics.
  • Certifications or qualifications in Construction/Project/Manufacturing Management will be an added advantage.
  • Experience on Scheduling software (MSP, Primavera etc.)
  • Possess Strong leadership qualities and motivate the team for realizing the set targets successfully on-time
  • Reasonable knowledge of ASME Sec VIII DIV 1, Sec II A, Sec IX & Sec V.
  • Reasonable knowledge on Electrical and Wiring diagram and control narratives.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations in a fabrication setting.
  • Participation in co-curricular activities as per company policies.

Title: Expediter

Job Title Expediter Summary Section Buys building materials and ensures that the correct materials arrive at the job site according to scheduled delivery through the production cycle. Monitor client changes and informs management of supply status. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

An Engineering graduate/ Diploma in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Production with 2 to 10 years of experience preferably in EPC/Manufacturing of Modular construction.

  • Maintaining the filled check lists for various gates for Execution Process flow Diagram for new Projects.
  • Prepare and provide weekly progress reports to Project management team, highlighting delays or issues and proposing solutions to get production back on track/ schedule.
  • Track the status of fabrication orders and ensure timely movement of materials and components through various stages of production. E.g. Piping spools, Structural steel and E&I fabrication/installation shall be aligned with inventory.
  • Maintain up-to-date production schedule and ensure all required materials, parts, and resources are available when needed.
  • Identify and address delays in material deliveries, shortages, or production issues that could affect project timelines.
  • Maintain quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Communicate with project managers, procurement teams, and suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on schedule.
  • Organising and attending the project review call whenever required with supplier / client / internal team.
