Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a senior Project Manager – Engineering to lead the engineering execution of large FEED, EPC, and EPCm projects across the Energy and Chemicals sectors.

You will drive safety, schedule, budget, and quality while acting as the primary technical interface with clients and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. The role requires proven leadership, extensive experience in large capital projects, and a track record of successful delivery in global environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 15+ years leading engineering projects, FEED/EPC/EPCm experience preferred.
  • Proven record of delivering large capital projects with international clients.

About The Role

KBR is seeking an accomplished Project Manager – Engineering to lead the engineering execution of large, complex projects across the Energy and Chemicals sectors, including Oil & Gas (Onshore and Offshore), Refining, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, and LNG. This leadership role is responsible for driving engineering excellence throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of FEED, EPC, EPCm, and portfolio projects while meeting client expectations, quality standards, budget targets, and schedule commitments. The Project Manager – Engineering will act as the primary technical interface with clients and provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Project Delivery
  • Lead the engineering execution of large-scale and complex FEED, EPC, EPCm, and portfolio projects.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and implement engineering execution strategies aligned with project objectives and client expectations.
  • Drive engineering performance, productivity, and quality across all project phases.
  • Ensure effective planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and workload management across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor engineering progress and proactively address issues that may impact project performance.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary technical authority and key engineering interface between KBR and the client.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead technical discussions, design reviews, progress meetings, and project workshops.
  • Ensure clear communication of engineering progress, project risks, and mitigation strategies to clients and senior management.
Multi-Disciplinary Coordination
  • Coordinate and integrate engineering activities across all disciplines, including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, and Safety.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
  • Ensure technical alignment and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk, Quality & Technical Governance
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical, execution, and project risks.
  • Resolve complex engineering challenges and technical conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure compliance with KBR procedures, client specifications, industry regulations, and quality standards.
  • Promote engineering best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion safety, sustainability, and environmental considerations within engineering design and project execution.
Proposal & Business Development Support
  • Support proposal and bid activities through technical leadership and strategic input.
  • Contribute to scope development, execution planning, resource estimation, and cost estimates.
  • Provide engineering expertise during project pursuits and business growth initiatives.
  • Assist in defining project delivery strategies that maximize value for clients and KBR.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and high performance.
  • Support succession planning and capability development within the engineering organization.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Engineering Project Management, Engineering Management or Large Capital Project Delivery.
  • Typical successful candidates possess approximately 20 years of industry experience.
  • Proven experience leading engineering execution on large FEED, EPC, EPCm or major capital projects.
  • Demonstrated project delivery success across international and domestic client environments.
Technical & Leadership Skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering execution, project delivery methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with understanding of project cost, schedule and resource management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex technical and project execution challenges.
  • High level of professional integrity and commitment to ethical business conduct.
  • Understanding of sustainability, environmental stewardship and responsible engineering practices.
  • Ability to build credibility and gain the trust of senior leaders, clients and technical specialists.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Experience delivering large-scale projects within:
    • Oil & Gas (Onshore and Offshore)

    • LNG
  • Experience working within global engineering and project delivery organizations.
