Responsibilities

• Vendor identification and development for casting, fabrication, machining and other components.
• Obtain quotations, compare costs, and negotiate for cost savings.
• Develop local suppliers to cut transport costs and lead times.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to ensure drawings, specs, tolerances and processes are understood.
• Monitor supplier quality, delivery, and responsiveness; implement corrective actions.
• Manage RFQs, PO placement, and material availability per plant requirements.

Role & responsibilities

Vendor Identification & Development Identify & develop capable vendors for casting, fabrication, machining and other mechanical components required for the new plan, Evaluate vendor capability, capacity, manpower, infrastructure & financial stability

Cost reduction Obtain competitive quotations, conduct cost comparisons, negotiate with supplier and achieve targeted cost saving

Local supplier development – Increase local sourcing to reduce transportation cost, lead time and supply chain dependency

Technical Coordination –Work Closely with Engineering & Quality teams to ensure suppliers understand drawings, specification, material requirements, tolerance and manufacturing process

Supplier Quality & performance – monitor supplier quality, delivery, responsiveness, capacity & corrective actions

Purchase & Delivery Management – Ensure timely RFQ closure, PO Placement, follow-up & material availability as per plant requirements
