Job summary

Genius Consultants is seeking a procurement professional to manage casting components and fabrication materials. You will send RFQs, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely delivery.

Experience in SCM/Materials Management, vendor evaluation, and cost estimation for fabrication is essential. Knowledge of ERP Oracle is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in SCM / Materials Management.
• Vendor identification and evaluation.
• Purchase planning and scheduling.
• Cost estimation for fabrication jobs.
• Price negotiation and follow-up with vendors.
• Assessing vendor quality, cost and delivery.
• Knowledge of inbound logistics for parts.
• ERP Oracle SCM experience is an added advantage.
• Vendor analysis knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Send RFQs based on purchase indents/requisitions.
• Clarify vendor requirements for technical and commercial aspects.
• Prepare purchase orders and obtain price approvals.
• Follow up with vendors for timely material supply per delivery plan.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and dispatch of parts.
• Read drawings and understand steel and fabrication materials.
• Work on cost reduction and alternate sourcing.
• Track steel and scrap price trends in the market.
• Visit suppliers for vendor evaluation and expediting.

Critical Exposure/Experience Deemed Essential

• Fair Knowledge and understanding on SCM / Material Management activities.
• Vendor Identification/Evaluation
• Purchase Planning
• Cost Estimation for fabrication job
• Price Negotiation & Follow-up
• Assessing Vendor in terms of Quality, Cost & Delivery
• Fair knowledge of inbound logistics of parts
• Working experience in ERP (Oracle) system of SCM function will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of vendor analysis will be an additional advantage

Job Responsibilities

1. Sending RFQ based on Purchase Indents/requisitions.
2. Clarify Vendor for Technical & Commercial requirements.
3. Purchase Order Preparation & price approval.
4. Follow up with Vendor for material supply as per delivery plan.
5. Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection & dispatch of parts.
6. Should have knowledge of Steel, and other raw materials used for fabrication, and should be able to read drawings.
7. Should be able to work on cost reduction & alternate sourcing.
8. Should have knowledge on steel prices / scrap prices trends as per market.
9. Visit suppliers frequently for vendor evaluation, monitoring and job expediting.
