Job summary

Heads Quest is seeking a procurement professional with 5–10 years of experience in project and strategic purchasing. The role focuses on NPD, supplier development, RFQ management and cost optimization for machined, cast, and forged components.

You will drive localization efforts, manage QCD performance, and coordinate across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and projects. Travel domestically and internationally is required.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–10 years of experience in project/strategic purchasing and supplier development.
• Exposure to machining, casting and forging components; hands-on RFQ, costing and vendor development.

Responsibilities

• Handle NPD, component and vendor development activities.
• Identify and develop suppliers for machined, cast and forged components.
• Float RFQs, conduct techno-commercial evaluations and support supplier selection.
• Work on costing, cost negotiation and should-cost / zero-based costing.
• Manage supplier QCD performance.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Project teams for new product development.
• Drive localization, cost reduction and supplier development initiatives.
• Manage purchasing activities as per project timelines and procurement processes.
• Support CAPEX / tooling / equipment procurement.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience.
• Experience in Project/Strategic Purchasing, NPD & Supplier Development.
• Strong exposure to machining, casting and forging components.
• Hands-on experience in RFQ, costing, negotiation and vendor development.
• Candidates from automotive, auto-component, industrial engineering or manufacturing companies preferred.
• Good understanding of QCD, localization and cost reduction.
• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally.
