Position: Event Manager

Location: Sinclairs Retreat Dooars and Sinclairs Retreat Ooty

Sinclairs Hotels and Resorts is seeking an Event Manager who will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing engaging guest activities, events, and recreational programs to enhance the overall guest experience at the resort. The role involves coordinating indoor and outdoor games, cultural programs, entertainment activities, seasonal events, and special guest engagement initiatives, ensuring memorable experiences for guests of all age groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning & Execution: Plan, organize, and conduct daily, weekly, and seasonal guest engagement activities; design and execute themed events, cultural evenings, bonfires, live entertainment, and festive celebrations; coordinate special events for families, children, senior citizens, corporate groups, and leisure travellers.
  • Guest Engagement: Interact proactively with guests and encourage participation in resort activities; create enjoyable and memorable experiences through innovative recreational programs; gather guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.
  • Indoor & Outdoor Activities: Organize and supervise indoor games such as carrom, chess, table tennis, board games, quiz competitions, and recreational contests; conduct outdoor activities including nature walks, treasure hunts, team‑building exercises, adventure activities, sports competitions, and fitness sessions; ensure activities are conducted safely and in accordance with resort policies.
  • Coordination & Vendor Management: Liaise with internal departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance for successful event execution; coordinate with performers, artists, activity instructors, and external vendors when required; manage event logistics, equipment, and activity materials.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure guest safety during all events and recreational activities; maintain proper records of activities, attendance, and event reports; adhere to resort standards, safety protocols, and statutory requirements.
  • Marketing Support: Assist in promoting events and activities through social media, guest communication channels, and on‑property displays; develop creative ideas to increase guest participation and engagement.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Event Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2‑4 years of experience in event management, guest relations, hospitality, resorts, or recreational activities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Energetic, outgoing, and guest‑focused personality.
  • Ability to engage guests across different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays as per operational requirements.
