Job summary

Imaraa is seeking an Estimator Engineer – Interior Design to manage project estimation, BOQs, costing and commercial evaluation for residential and commercial interior projects in Bengaluru.

The role requires strong knowledge of interior materials, construction methods, quantities, labour, vendor pricing and project costing, with the ability to interpret drawings into accurate estimates.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Construction, Interior Design or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in interior estimation, quantity surveying or costing.
• Strong understanding of interior materials and construction processes.
• Proficient in BOQ preparation and quantity take-offs.
• Ability to read AutoCAD drawings and interior working drawings.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with estimation/ERP/CRM software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Estimation & BOQ: study drawings, prepare BOQs and quantity take-offs, estimate quantities for interior works.
• Costing & Pricing: prepare costing sheets, obtain quotations, maintain rate databases.
• Tender & Proposal Support: assist in pre-sales, prepare estimates for enquiries, support commercial proposals.
• Project Coordination: liaise with Design, Sales, Procurement, PM and Site Teams, track variations.
• Commercial Control: maintain costing records, track wastage, prepare variance reports.

About the Role

Imaraa is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator Engineer – Interior Design to manage project estimation, BOQs, costing and commercial evaluation for residential and commercial interior projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of interior materials, construction methods, quantities, labour, vendor pricing and project costing, along with the ability to interpret drawings and translate design concepts into accurate commercial estimates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimation & BOQ

• Study architectural, interior and MEP drawings.
• Prepare detailed BOQs and quantity take-offs.
• Estimate quantities for civil, carpentry, modular furniture, false ceiling, flooring, electrical, plumbing, painting, glass, hardware and other interior works.
• Prepare accurate project cost estimates based on drawings, specifications and site requirements.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions and assumptions.

2. Costing & Pricing

• Prepare detailed project costing and pricing sheets.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
• Maintain updated material, labour and vendor rate databases.
• Compare vendor quotations and negotiate rates where required.
• Ensure estimates meet required project margins and commercial targets.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value engineering.

3. Tender & Proposal Support

• Support the sales and design teams during the pre-sales stage.
• Prepare estimates for new enquiries within agreed timelines.
• Review design proposals for commercial feasibility.
• Provide costing inputs for design alternatives and material selections.
• Assist in preparing client quotations and commercial proposals.

4. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with Design, Sales, Procurement, Project Management and Site Teams.
• Validate quantities and specifications before procurement.
• Track variations and additional works during execution.
• Support the project team in evaluating client change requests.
• Compare estimated vs. actual project costs and identify variances.

5. Commercial Control

• Maintain project-wise costing records.
• Monitor material and labour cost assumptions.
• Track wastage and potential cost overruns.
• Prepare cost comparison and variance reports.
• Maintain standard rate cards and estimation templates.
  

Ideal Candidate

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Construction, Interior Design or a related field.
