Job summary

Flipspaces in India is seeking a senior leader to head the estimation function across India and global projects, owning cost planning and commercial evaluation for Design & Build and Interiors work. You will drive end-to-end estimation strategy from concept to final design, manage bid lifecycle, and build detailed cost structures by analyzing drawings, specs, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimation function across India and global projects, owning cost planning and commercial evaluation for Design & Build and Interiors projects.
• Drive end-to-end estimation strategy from concept to final design, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
• Own the bid management lifecycle, including preparation, review, and submission of high-value tenders and proposals as per client requirements.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to define scope, validate assumptions, and build detailed cost structures.
• Partner with leadership on pricing strategy, margin optimization, and bid positioning to maximize win rates while ensuring profitability.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing estimation team, driving capability development, quality control, and process excellence.
• Develop and manage a strategic vendor and subcontractor ecosystem, ensuring competitive pricing, strong negotiations, and reliable partnerships.
• Drive value engineering, cost benchmarking, and standardization initiatives to improve estimation efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify commercial and execution risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies and cost optimization solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure seamless transition from estimation to execution.
• Establish and maintain estimation processes, tools, and reporting frameworks, providing leadership with pipeline visibility and commercial insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong expertise in cost estimation, commercial planning, and bid management for large-scale projects
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, BOQ preparation, and quantity takeoff tools
• Deep understanding of materials, construction methodologies, and cost drivers in commercial interiors / D&B projects
• Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-value bids in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Experience:

• 812+ years of experience in estimation, commercial, or bid management roles
• Proven experience in leading estimation teams and managing end-to-end bid processes
• Experience working on global projects, with exposure to international costing standards and practices
• Strong background in Design & Build and/or Commercial Interiors projects
• Experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing
