Job summary

RNTBCI PL in Chennai is seeking an experienced chassis engineer to define suspension geometry and validate vehicle dynamics. You will drive axle and suspension deployment, sizing through simulations and support cross-functional teams on braking, steering and stability integrations.

The role requires strong modelling skills in 1D/durability simulations, CATIA, ADAMS and MADA, plus Excel VBA scripting and driving expertise for ride-handling optimization.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and suspension design.
• Experience with 1D and durability simulations and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and simulation tools (ADAMS/SHARK/MADA).
• Advanced Excel VBA scripting skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define suspension geometry and vehicle construction for passenger cars.
• Ensure convergence of chassis integration and synthesis.
• Lead deployment of Axle and Suspension parts per design requirements.
• Define right sizing of parts via load cases and simulations.
• Plan and execute vehicle-level tests to measure suspension and steering.
• Support R&H to fine-tune chassis components for ride comfort.
• Collaborate with software, hardware and manufacturing teams on control strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• To define suspension geometry, vehicle transversal, longitudinal and vertical construction for passenger cars
• To Ensure convergence of Chassis Integration and Synthesis
• To Pilot the deployment of Axle and Suspension Parts – in compliance with design requirements
• To define right sizing of axle and suspension parts through load case deployments and simulations
• Testing and Validation: Plan and execute Vehicle level tests on proving grounds or rigs to measure suspension kinematics, compliance, and steering response.
• Tuning and Optimization: To support R&H team to Fine-tune chassis components—such as dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and tires—to match design targets and user comfort.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to integrate control strategies for braking, steering, and stability systems.
• Deep understanding of vehicle mechanics, tire modelling, suspension design, and data analysis
