Job summary

Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India in Chennai seeks an experienced suspension design engineer to define geometry, sizing, and vehicle-level validation. You will work with software, hardware and manufacturing teams to integrate controls for braking, steering and stability, while tuning dampers, springs and tires to meet design targets and rider comfort.

The role requires strong vehicle dynamics knowledge, experience with 1D and durability simulations, and proficiency in CATIA

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Define suspension geometry and vehicle construction for passenger cars.
Ensure convergence of chassis integration and synthesis.
Pilot deployment of axle and suspension parts per design requirements.
Define sizing of axle and suspension parts through load-case deployments and simulations.
Plan and execute vehicle-level tests on proving grounds or rigs to measure suspension kinematics, compliance, and steering response.
Tune chassis components such as dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and tires to match design targets and user comfort.
Collaborate with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to integrate control strategies for braking, steering, and stability systems.
Deep understanding of vehicle mechanics, tire modelling, suspension design, and data analysis

To define suspension geometry, vehicle transversal, longitudinal and vertical construction for passenger cars
To Ensure convergence of Chassis Integration and Synthesis
To Pilot the deployment of Axle and Suspension Parts – in compliance with design requirements
To define right sizing of axle and suspension parts through load case deployments and simulations
Testing and Validation: Plan and execute Vehicle level tests on proving grounds or rigs to measure suspension kinematics, compliance, and steering response.
Tuning and Optimization: To support R&H team to Fine-tune chassis components—such as dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and tires—to match design targets and user comfort.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to integrate control strategies for braking, steering, and stability systems.
