Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced design engineer to develop suspension and chassis systems for vehicle applications in Chennai. The role involves system-level design calculations, vehicle dynamics analysis, and interface with CAE teams to optimize designs.

Collaboration with suppliers and in-house teams ensures manufacturing readiness and cost/weight reduction. The ideal candidate should have BE/ME in Electrical and Electronics with 3–5 years of relevant engineering

Qualifications

• BE/ME in Electrical and Electronics.
• 3–5 years of relevant design and engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of suspension and chassis systems for vehicle applications.
• Perform system-level design calculations and vehicle dynamics analysis.
• Execute detailed engineering calculations for fasteners and structural components.
• Conduct benchmarking activities and cascade system-level targets to subsystems.
• Prepare and manage DVP (Design Verification Plan) and DFMEA documentation.
• Collaborate with CAE teams for design optimization and correlation studies.
• Review and approve supplier and in-house engineering drawings.
• Ensure technical feasibility and manufacturing readiness in coordination with suppliers.
• Interface with material management teams for timely development and procurement of components.
• Define and execute rig testing plans to validate durability and performance targets.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of development and field issues.
• Drive cost and weight reduction initiatives through design optimization.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability
