Role Summary
The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for supporting the coordination, planning, and execution of all engineering activities within a project or department. The role ensures effective communication and collaboration between multidisciplinary engineering teams, procurement, construction, and project management to achieve project goals in line with scope, schedule, and budget. The Engineering Coordinator assists in managing engineering deliverables, progress tracking, and documentation to maintain alignment with client requirements, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor all engineering deliverables and design activities across disciplines.
- Support the Engineering Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling engineering workflows.
- Track engineering progress, deliverable schedules, and interface milestones using appropriate tools.
- Liaise with design, procurement, and project control teams to ensure timely input and document flow.
- Maintain and update the Engineering Deliverable Register (EDR) or Master Document Register (MDR).
- Review and consolidate engineering status reports for management review.
- Coordinate internal and external design reviews, technical meetings, and approval cycles.
- Ensure all engineering documents comply with client specifications and project standards.
- Interface with Document Control to ensure all technical documentation is properly logged, distributed, and archived.
- Support change management, technical queries (TQ), and request-for-information (RFI) processes.
- Assist in compiling project handover dossiers, as-built documentation, and lessons learned.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Naval Architecture, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering coordination or project engineering roles within EPC / Oil & Gas / Shipbuilding / Construction industries.
- Familiarity with engineering design processes, documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Knowledge of project management principles and tools (Primavera P6, MS Project preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows and design deliverables.
- Knowledge of design review processes, document control systems, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and engineering coordination tools.
- Familiar with industry standards and QA/QC processes for engineering deliverables.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and data sheets.

- Engineering / Design: Track design deliverables, coordinate design reviews, and ensure interface alignment across disciplines.
- Procurement: Coordinate engineering input for material requisitions and vendor document reviews.
- Construction: Support resolution of site technical queries (TQs) and manage redline/as-built updates.
- Commissioning / Handover: Ensure final deliverables and as-built documentation are compiled and submitted as per project requirements.
