Key Responsibilities

• Study of drawings or the physical parts.
• Sourcing feasibility study and identify potential suppliers.
• Evaluate suppliers on various parameters.
• Should Cost Analysis and RFQ Management, Price negotiation and component development with suppliers.
• Hands on experience in development of component, should be able to define manufacturing process, machine / tool selection, Cycle time estimation.
• Exposure to NPD / NPI.
• Experience in product teardown, VAVE and projects.
• Exposure to competitive benchmarking, Cost reduction, Value engineering activities.
• Knowledge of various manufacturing process for various engineering commodities (Generators, Power electronics, Castings, Forgings, Sheet metal stamping, Machined items, weldments, Pumps, Valves, Safety Switches, Liquid fuel piping’s etc.)
• Experience of costing on Generators and Liquid Fuel Piping’s will be an added advantage.
• Experience of costing on Gas Turbine components (discs, blades, casings, vanes, etc) will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Global supplier base for the various engineering commodities.
• Hand on experience of working on various should costing software like aPriori / Costimator/ TcPCM.
• Should be able to map should costing of part for various geographical regions – Asia Specific, United States, Europe. Should have knowledge about MHR, raw material & Labor rates for different countries.

Work Experience / Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Systems Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Cost Engineering.
• Have worked as Cost Engineer for Auxilaries (Liquid gas supply systems and Valves).
• Cost Engineering experience in Pumps, valves, safety switches, Liquid Fuel Pipelines.
• Cost Engineering experience in Rotating Pumps like discs, blades and stator parts.
• Ability to quickly learn and deliver the tasks with prescribed quality levels.
