Overview
This role involves leading cost engineering activities, developing detailed should‑cost models, and driving value engineering initiatives across electronic components, PCB manufacturing, and EMS processes. The individual will collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams to identify cost optimization opportunities, support localization strategies, and influence sourcing and business decisions through data‑driven insights.
The role also includes mentoring team members, managing stakeholder communication, and leading cost reduction and productivity initiatives.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline

8 to 10 yrs.
Minimum Experience
Minimum 3–4 years in Electrical / Electronics / Switchgear / EMS industry

Roles and Responsibilities
- Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and specifications to understand product requirements
- Perform teardown analysis and develop detailed BOMs for electronic products
- Build should‑cost models for PCBs, components, and box‑build assemblies and find low‑cost BOM alternatives
- Estimate costs for materials, fabrication, assembly, testing, and overheads
- Validate cost estimates across geographies and suppliers
- Identify cost drivers and support target costing initiatives
- Conduct competitive benchmarking for electronic products and assemblies
- Analyze PCB manufacturing, EMS processes, and component selection
- Lead cost estimation projects, VAVE initiatives, and support NPIs
- Collaborate with global teams on localization, sourcing, and cost optimization initiatives
Skills / Competence
- Strong expertise in should‑cost estimation and benchmarking for electronics
- Good knowledge of PCB manufacturing, assembly processes, and EMS environments
- Understanding of electronic components and basic circuit design principles
- Experience in box‑build assemblies and end‑to‑end product costing
- Proficiency in developing Excel‑based models
- Strong understanding of product cost structures and key cost drivers
- Experience in value engineering (VAVE) and cost productivity initiatives
- Ability to develop detailed cost models, reports, and insights
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder influencing skills
- Ability to collaborate across cultures and drive decisions using data‑driven insights
- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain operations, and localization strategies
- Experience with digital cost platforms and sustainability‑driven cost optimization
