Job summary

Tractebel Engineering Private Limited in Gurugram is seeking a Senior Design Engineer specializing in Cyber Security, Telecom, and SCADA to safeguard control systems across power projects. You will shape secure architectures and coordinate with OEMs to ensure secure integration throughout the project lifecycle.

With 10+ years in power plant cyber security and related domains, you will lead design reviews, contribute to proposals, and guide field engineers on complex Telecom/SCADA deployments,

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant cyber security, Telecom, or SCADA design across conventional, solar, wind, and substation projects.
• Experience with control systems security design and review processes.
• Ability to coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and field engineers.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and mitigate cyber risks across SCADA, DCS, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI environments for substation and power plant projects.
• Design and review secure control system architectures, firewall rules, and configuration baselines for transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate with OEMs such as Siemens, GE, ABB, and Schneider to ensure secure system integration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in EPC design reviews to embed cybersecurity requirements into electrical, instrumentation, control, and communication network deliverables.
• Prepare scope of work documents, conceptual design reports, and technical presentations for Telecom and SCADA systems across wind, solar, and conventional projects.
• Provide technical guidance to field engineers and resolve site-level design challenges related to Telecom and SCADA systems.
• Support the Sales and Business Development team with technical inputs for proposals, pre-tender, and post-tender clarifications.

Senior Design Engineer – Telecom / SCADA

As a Senior Design Engineer in Cyber Security, Telecom, and SCADA, you will safeguard the control systems that keep power flowing safely. What You Bring

• B.E. in Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant cyber security, Telecom, or SCADA design, covering conventional, solar, wind, and substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62351, IEC 62443, NERC CIP, or equivalent OT cybersecurity standards.
• Hands-on experience with DCS, SCADA, RTU, and communication network design review and approval processes.
• Proven ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, including EPC contractors, OEMs, and field engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations to international clients.
• Willingness to travel internationally for client meetings and project requirements.
