Job summary

Siemens in Pune is seeking a Telecom SCADA Engineer to lead hardware design and GUI development for DSPM/T-SCADA systems. You will implement engineering tasks, ensure interface specifications, and contribute to project documentation.

With 5+ years in SCADA/telecom and familiarity with railway standards (EN50121-4, EN50126, EN50128), you will collaborate across international teams, support commissioning, FAT, and customer training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SCADA or telecom systems.
• Knowledge of railway telecom standards and interfaces.
• Proficient in Ladder, STL, and SCL programming.
• Familiar with SCADA interfaces such as SNMP, OPC UA, Modbus, IEC 61850.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering tasks for hardware design and GUI programming of DSPM/T-SCADA.
• Ensure processes and generate documentation in requirements tools.
• Oversee commissioning and installation supervision; support FAT and first article tests.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to fulfill system requirements.
• Provide training for customers and internal teams.

We are looking for a Telecom SCADA Engineer, meeting the need for smart-mobility solutions.

You’ll make a difference by:

• You will execute all engineering tasks (hardware design and GUI programming) of the DSPM/T-SCADA.
• You will ensure processes to be strictly followed and documentation generated (e.g. specifications in requirement management tool, descriptions of the interfaces)
• You will also be responsible for:
  • commissioning and installation supervision of the equipment for the DSPM/T-SCADA; support of first article inspection and factory acceptance tests
  • customer and supplier clarification to fulfill system requirements and performance
  • Training for customers and internally (team)
• You are familiar with related telecommunication standards as well railway related standards (EN50121-4 (EMC), EN 50126 (RAM(S)), EN 50128), telecommunication and preferably railway design engineering methodologies.

• You have bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in electrical / electronic engineering with railways specific specialization
• You carry as a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in various technologies (SCADA systems and/or other Telecommunication Systems)
• You may have technical knowledge on other telecom-subsystems of a railway project such as FOTS, PA, PIDS, CCTV etc.
• You have interest in generation of project specific design documentation and engineering of the telecom systems, including power supply.
• You must have knowledge of engineering processes and communication skills to interface different departments.
• You must have proficiency in common programming languages such as Ladder, STL, SCL programming.
• You must have proficiency in common Engineering/SCADA tools such as WinCC OA, Simatic Step-7, TIA Portal etc.
• You must have proficiency in common SCADA Interface protocols such as SNMP, OPC UA, Modbus, IEC 61850 etc.
• You must have hands-on experience in Configurations of Servers, Workstations, PLCs etc.
• You must have hands-on experience of working on SCADA related HMI/GUI development, preferably SCADA HMI from Railway Telecom field.
• You have experience in reading and understanding technical requirements
• You thrive in a multi-cultural environment, and you are familiar with working in large matrix organizations
• Willing to work as team member in international projects.
