Job summary

Tractebel in India seeks a senior Design Engineer - Cyber Security for telecom/SCADA in substations and power plants. You will work with stakeholders to implement cybersecurity across SCADA environments, control systems, networks, and vendor interfaces.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration and travel between sites and client locations. Ideal candidates have deep experience in power projects, strong knowledge of security protocols, and the ability to prepare technical documentation

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security for SCADA environments.
• Design and review secure distributed control systems (DCS), PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and plant protection systems.
• Coordinate with OEMs (e.g., Siemens, GE, ABB, Schneider) for secure system integration.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and mitigate cyber risks in SCADA environments.
• Design and Review of Secure DCS, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and plant protection systems.
• Review firewall rule design and secure configuration baselines.
• Coordinate with OEMs for secure system integration.
• Prepare design reviews to ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated in EPC design deliverables, control system architecture, electrical & I&C systems, and communication networks.
• Provide technical inputs and support to Sales & BD teams for cybersecurity, telecom & SCADA projects.

Mission

Designate to be responsible on behalf of Consulting Engineer as Senior Design Engineer-Cyber Security, Telecom/SCADA for Substation and Power Plant projects. Work Closely with Stakeholders (Management, Client Engineers and Managers, Contractors and personnel related to the project. Implement and respect strictly Tractebels Ethics and compliance policies / guidelines.

The key macro roles and responsibilities are:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate cyber risks in SCADA environments.
• Design and Review of Secure Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and plant protection systems.
• Review of firewall rule design, and secure configuration baselines.
• Coordinate with OEMs (e.g., Siemens, GE, ABB, Schneider) for secure system integration.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated in:
  • EPC design deliverables
  • Control system architecture
  • Electrical & I&C systems
  • Communication networks
• Review vendor documents for cybersecurity clauses (e.g., secure protocols, hardened devices)
• Telecom & SCADA System Design Review & Design Approval for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.
• Preparing the Scope of Work, Technical documentation and Technical Presentation for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects pertaining to Telecom & SCADA System.
• Pre-Tender & Post Tender Clarification related to Telecom & SCADA System for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.
• Preparing the Conceptual Design Report (CDR) pertaining to Telecom & SCADA System for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.
• Providing the Technical inputs & support to Sales & Business Development Team pertaining to Cyber Security, Telecom & SCADA System for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.
• Very Close Co-ordination and Co-operation with our Field Telecom Engineer as well as Field SCMS Engineer for the design technical issues and resolving the site technical problem by providing the Proper Technical Guidance.
• Very Close Co-ordination and Co-operation with our Product Manager and TRACTEBEL Management Team and with our Colleagues & Office Staff pertaining to Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.
• Good Organizational, Communication and Interpersonal Skills.

• If Business needs willing to visit to other country for attending technical & contractual meetings with clients and providing the Technical Presentation pertaining to Cyber Security, Telecom & SCADA System for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.
• The Job had been performed for Home Office Design Review & Approval pertaining to Cyber Security Telecom & SCADA System for Transmission, Distribution, Wind Energy and Renewable Energy (Solar PV Panel) Projects.

Management

Strong interaction with all Tractebel Departments (Technical, Finance, HR, ) and allocated Project Site Staff.

Qualifications

B.E. Electronics Engineer with minimum 15 Years of experience in Power Plant including Conventional, Solar, Wind Energy and Substation and LDC integration.
