Role: Engineer / Assistant Engineer – Instrumentation

Reporting To: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Instrumentation

Mandatory Skill-Sets:
  • Sound knowledge of industrial instrumentation, process control, and automation systems
  • Hands‑on experience with field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and sensors
  • Basic working knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFDs, and industrial communication systems
  • Experience in calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices
  • Ability to analyze failures and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Familiarity with SAP PM / ERP systems and maintenance documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook‑up drawings, and control schematics
  • Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and technical report preparation
  • Strong safety awareness with strict adherence to plant safety procedures
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation and automation systems
  • Attend breakdowns and restore equipment operation with minimum downtime
  • Ensure calibration accuracy and reliable functioning of all field instruments
  • Prepare, execute, and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules
  • Monitor maintenance compliance and support reliability improvement initiatives
  • Assist in predictive maintenance and condition monitoring activities
  • Support plant modification projects, system upgrades, and automation improvements
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, testing, and startup of new instrumentation systems
  • Prepare breakdown reports, failure analysis reports, and maintenance documentation
  • Maintain calibration records, equipment history, and maintenance logs
  • Monitor availability of critical spares and support inventory optimization activities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to supervisors and technicians
  • Participate in training programs, ISO systems, Quality Circle, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, permit‑to‑work systems, and housekeeping practices
