Job summary

Omron Electronics S.p.A. in Pune requires an experienced automation professional to lead pre-sales activities, design system architectures, and deliver PoC reports for advanced automation solutions.

The role covers project execution, installation, and commissioning of automation projects, plus providing technical support, trainings, and customer engagement to ensure successful outcomes in the manufacturing sector.

Qualifications

• B.E. or equivalent diploma in Electronics and Communication / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering.
• 4–7 years of experience in application programming, installation & commissioning of machine vision applications.
• Experience in automation industries like Automotive, Digital, FMCG, Pharma.
• Programming knowledge of HMI, PLC, SCADA, VFD, Safety, Servo & Motion Controller is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and communications like DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, EtherCAT.

Responsibilities

• Pre Sales (50%): Customer visits for detailed application study with Sales/SI team to understand requirements and provide automation solutions.
• Design system architecture, prepare BOM, submit PoC report to sales for advanced automation applications.
• Review PoC with Sales and follow up for order closure.
• Conduct product presentations, demos and trials with Sales team to determine optimal hardware configuration.
• Project Execution & Control (30%): Develop application programs for PLC, Servo drive, HMI, Vision, Safety, Robots per SOP.
• Install and commission automation projects within the stipulated time.
• Review customer blueprints and monitor project execution with channel partner engineers until commissioning.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient execution and positioning of project applications.
• Technical Support and Reporting (20%): Provide technical support via phone, email, and on-site; conduct trainings and seminars; prepare monthly reports and PoC documents.

Job Responsibility:

• 1. Pre Sales (50%)
• 1.1. Customer Visit for detailed application study (Pre-Sales) with Sales/System Integrator team member to understand customer requirements and provide the right automation solution and products.
• 1.2. Design System architecture, prepare BOM (bill of materials), submission of PoC (Proof of Concept) report to sales team for advanced automation applications.
• 1.3. Review with Sales teams for PoC submitted and follow up for the closure of the order.
• 1.4. Conduct product presentation, demo and trials alongwith Sales team to determine the optimal configuration of automation hardware.
• 2. Project Execution & Control (30%)
• 2.1. Develop application program of automation products including PLC, Servo drive, HMI, Vision, Safety, Robots as per the SOP (sequence of operation).
• 2.2. Conduct Installation and commissioning of automation project for customers within the stipulated time.
• 2.3. Review customer application blueprints and closely monitor project execution in collaboration with channel partner engineers until successful project commissioning.
• 2.4. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient execution and positioning of project applications.
• 3. Technical Support and Reporting (20%)
• 3.1. Offer technical support to end users, OEM customers, and channel partners through phone, email, and on-site visits.
• 3.2. Conduct training programs and OJT (On the Job Training) for customers/Channel Partners to enhance their knowledge and understanding of OMRON products.
• 3.3. Conduct seminars, road shows and trade shows to promote OMRON products.
• 3.4. Prepare and submit monthly reports, technical notes, quick start guide, success stories and Proof of Concept documents.

Job Requirement:

• - B.E. OR Equivalent Diploma in Electronics and communication/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Mechatronics Engineering
• - Minimum 04 to 07 Years of experience in Application programming, installation & commissioning of Machine vision applications.
• - Experience of automation industries like Automotive, Digital, FMCG, Pharma
• - Programing knowledge of HMI, PLC, SCADA, VFD, Safety, Servo & Motion Controller will be added advantage.
• - Knowledge of Industrial Networking and communications like Device Net, Modbus, Profi-bus, Profi-net, Ethernet, Ethercat etc.
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with clients, understand their requirements, and provide effective solutions.
• - Travel as per business purpose 40%
