Job summary

OMRON Electronics S.p.A. is seeking a Senior Engineer-Application ISD to lead AOI system optimization and tailor inspection solutions in collaboration with customers. You will ensure high AOI performance and provide training on setup, operation, and maintenance.

The role includes data analysis, reporting, and driving process improvements in SMT/THT manufacturing within the Industrial Automation Business, with a global customer focus and APAC exposure.

Qualifications

• BE with Mechatronics specialization is an added advantage.
• 6–8 years of SMT/THT process experience with hands-on AOI/SPI/AXI programming, installation, and commissioning.
• OMRON AOI/SPI product programming knowledge is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Industrial Automation technical roles and customer-facing environments.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with analytical mindset.

Short Description

Job Responsibilities

• 1.AOI System Optimisation: 40%
  • 1.1. Collaborate with customers to understand their specific requirements and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • 1.2. Analyze and optimize AOI machine settings and inspection algorithms to achieve accurate defect detection and minimized false positives
  • 1.3. Conduct thorough testing and validation of AOI systems to ensure they meet or exceed performance expectations
  • 1.4 Stay updated with the latest advancements in AOI technology, industry trends, and best practices
  • 1.5 Lead efforts to continuously improve AOI system performance, accuracy, and efficiency based on customer feedback and technological advancements
• 2.Customer Support: 40%
  • 2.1. Serve as a technical point of contact for customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and providing solutions to technical challenges
  • 2.2. Provide training and guidance to customers' technical teams on the setup, operation, and maintenance of AOI systems
• 3.Reporting & Data Analysis: 20%
  • 3.1. Collect, analyse, and interpret inspection data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement in the manufacturing process
  • 3.2. Generate comprehensive reports and insights to guide decision-making and process optimization

Job Requirements

• - B.E. (candidate with Mechatronics specialization will be an added advantage)
• - In-depth knowledge of application development methodologies and practices
• - Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in SMT/THT Process with hands on AOI/SPI/AXI programming, installation & commissioning
• - OMRON AOI/SPI product programming knowledge would be an added advantage
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and other departments
• - Minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience in Industrial Automation organisation in a Technical profile
• - Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
• - Ability to work under pressure, target oriented and dedicate extra hours if needed on assignments
• - Good Analytical skills and ability to use Microsoft Tools to analyse and prepare statistical information
