Job summary

OMRON Industrial Automation India is seeking an Engineer- Application to lead feasibility studies and develop green/brown field automation projects. The role includes on-site installation, commissioning support, and technical customer interactions across the region.

The candidate should have 5–8 years of experience in automation product programming and system integration, with strong PLC/HMI/SCADA, VB/C#/ASP.NET, and networking skills, plus willingness to travel as required.

Qualifications

• Educational qualification: BE or Diploma in Electronics & Communication/ Electrical & Electronics/ Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in application programming, installation & commissioning of automation products like HMI, PLC, SCADA, SERVO.
• Proficient in PLC, Servo, HMI, Vision programming.
• Proficient in Development SQL database, VB/C#/ASP.NET.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and plan projects, assess feasibility with sales and prepare technically sound proposals.
• Program PLC, HMI, SCADA, front-end developments and robotics; ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Provide installation and commissioning support; update design documentation and support post-handover.

Job description

As Engineer- Application you will be responsible to focus on feasibility study, evaluation, development of the green / brown field projects for Omron Automation. To provide the onsite support to Install and commission Omron proposed solution. Render technical support to customers by successfully penetrating the potential application market in the region & leverage Omron strength.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Project Initiation & Planning (35%)

1.1.Customer visit alongwith sales team to determine proposal feasibility by checking RFQs (request for quote).

1.2. Study & design system architecture as per the requirement of the customer and prepare the technical proposal. Give PoC to customers if required.

1.3. Identify the potential Vendor for the project in the assigned region.

1.4. Prepare the project BOM (bill of materials), including third party scope & prepare the commercial proposal.

2.1 Programming of PLC, HMI, SCADA, front end developments (using VB/C#/ASP.net) and Robotics.

2.2 Execute the project within schedule timeline and cost with expected quality.

2.3 Coordination with internal departments, vendors and customers to ensure timely execution of project.

2.4 Responsible for a support for installation and commissioning of projects. Timely updating design and its documentation.

3. Project Closure & technical Support (15%)

3.1 Prepare project handover documents of Electrical, Mechanical and Operation manual etc. provide technical support to customers post project handover.

Job Requirements:

1. Educational Qualification : B.E. OR Equivalent Diploma in Electronics and communication/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering

2. Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5- 8 Years of experience in Application programming, installation & commissioning of Automation products like HMI, PLC, SCADA, SERVO
• Proficient in PLC, Servo, HMI, Vision programming .
• Proficient in Development SQL database, prog. language VB/C#/ASP.net.
• Knowledge of Industrial Networking and communications like Device . Device Net, RS232 and RS485, Modbus, Profi-bus, Profi-net, Ethernet/IP,EtherCAT etc.
• Knowledge of Auto cad & e-Plan, electric circuit diagrams, Industry 4.0, Digital transformation and IIOT projects.
• Knowledge of Safety and Safety Equipment and Machines & Technical operations Knowledge will be added advantage
• Good Communication & Presentation skills with an eye for details.

5. Travel:

- Travel required in the assigned region as per business purpose.
