Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and coordinate electrical designs, layouts, schematics, SLDs, load schedules and service plans for residential projects.
• Prepare electrical load calculations and plan distribution systems, lighting, earthing and DG/backup power.
• Supervise and monitor electrical works at the project site to ensure adherence to drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain as-built electrical drawings based on site execution.
• Review subcontractor bills based on as-built drawings and work completed.
• Prepare and review BOQs, material requirements, and cost estimates; monitor material usage and project costs.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee the planning, design, execution, and supervision of electrical systems for our residential projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical works are executed in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable statutory regulations, while ensuring efficient use of materials and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Design & Planning: Develop, review, and coordinate electrical designs, layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, and electrical service plans for residential projects.
• Load Calculation & System Planning: Prepare electrical load calculations and plan power distribution systems, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, DG/backup power, and other electrical services as required.
• Site Execution & Supervision: Supervise and monitor electrical works at the project site to ensure execution is as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
• As-Built Drawings: Prepare and maintain accurate as-built electrical drawings based on actual site execution and approved modifications.
• Subcontractor Billing: Verify subcontractor measurements and prepare/review subcontractor bills based on approved as-built drawings, actual site quantities, and work completed.
• BOQ & Cost Management: Prepare and review BOQs, quantity estimates, material requirements, and cost estimates for electrical works. Monitor material consumption and project costs.
• Project Coordination: Coordinate with architects, consultants, civil, MEP, project management teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other project services.
• Material & Vendor Management: Review technical specifications of electrical materials and equipment, coordinate with vendors, and ensure materials comply with approved specifications and quality standards.
• Testing & Commissioning: Supervise testing, inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable NBC, IS Codes, CEA regulations, fire safety requirements, and other relevant statutory standards.
• Quality & Safety: Ensure electrical works are executed in accordance with approved quality standards, safety procedures, and site safety requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain electrical drawings, inspection reports, test reports, material approvals, measurement records, as-built documentation, and other project-related records.
• Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of electrical works, identify delays or technical issues, and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
• Energy Efficiency: Recommend energy-efficient electrical systems and sustainable solutions that can improve operational efficiency and reduce long-term energy consumption.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electrical design, power distribution, lighting, earthing, electrical protection, and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant electrical design software.
• Good understanding of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and electrical layouts.
• Knowledge of relevant NBC, IS, CEA, IEC, and fire safety standards.
• Strong understanding of electrical materials, equipment, and installation practices.
• Ability to prepare and review BOQs, estimates, measurements, and subcontractor bills.
• Strong site supervision, project coordination, and vendor management skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and coordinate effectively with contractors and consultants.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, execution, and site supervision.
• Experience in residential construction projects is a must.
• Hands-on experience in electrical project execution, BOQ preparation, billing, testing, and commissioning.
• Good knowledge of statutory approvals and electrical safety requirements.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions will be an added advantage.
