Design Engineer - Electrical

Job summary

Greythr is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to prepare and review electrical design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documents for MEP projects in Mumbai.

You will coordinate electrical systems with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Structural, Architectural, and ELV/ICT disciplines, review SLDs, power and lighting layouts, cable schedules, and ensure compliance with IEC, IS, NFPA, NBC and client standards.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical design and MEP projects.
• Good knowledge of LV/MV systems, transformers, DG, UPS, PDU, busduct, cable trays, lighting, small power, earthing, and electrical distribution systems
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM.
• Experience with electrical design calculations and coordination.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documents.
• Develop electrical designs based on project requirements, IFC drawings, applicable codes, and client standards.
• Coordinate electrical systems with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Structural, Architectural, and ELV/ICT disciplines.
• Review and develop SLD, power layouts, lighting layouts, cable schedules, load schedules, earthing, and equipment layouts.
• Review equipment/material TDS, technical submittals, and vendor drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, clients, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Review BIM models and shop drawings and provide engineering inputs for site execution.
• Attend technical meetings and coordinate responses to consultant/client comments.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant IEC, IS, NFPA, NBC, and client/project standards.
• Support project deliverables from design development through construction and RIBA-5/project closeout.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, calculations, drawing registers, and revisions.

Preferred:

• Experience in Data Centre projects.
• Knowledge of ETAP/DIALux or other relevant design software.
• Experience with ACC/BIM 360, Procore, or similar project collaboration platforms.
• Knowledge of client/consultant approval and technical submittal processes.
