Job summary

Unique Electro Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical projects from planning and mobilisation through execution, testing, commissioning and handover. Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience with electrical contracting companies.
• Experience in large commercial buildings, hospitality or mission-critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, drawings, specifications, quantity measurement and project billing.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, drawings, and specifications; prepare schedules, manpower plans, material requirements and procurement schedules.
• Manage electrical installation works including HT/LT systems, transformers, panels, DG sets, UPS, bus ducts, cables and lighting.
• Lead site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and labour; monitor productivity and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, civil contractors, and other MEP agencies; attend progress meetings.
• Review shop drawings, SLDs, and submittals; obtain approvals before execution.
• Coordinate with Purchase Team to ensure timely material availability and reconcile stock.
• Monitor project costs, labour expenses, subcontractor bills, and material consumption against budgets.
• Ensure testing, commissioning, snag lists closure, and handover documentation.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to manage electrical projects from planning and mobilisation through execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, extensive site management experience, and the ability to deliver projects within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Review work orders, BOQs, drawings, and specifications. Prepare project schedules, manpower plans, material requirements, and procurement schedules.
• Site Execution: Manage electrical installation works, including HT/LT systems, transformers, panels, DG sets, UPS systems, bus ducts, cables, cable trays, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Team Management: Lead site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and labour teams. Monitor productivity and resolve execution-related issues.
• Client Coordination: Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, civil contractors, and other MEP agencies. Attend project review and progress meetings.
• Technical Approvals: Review shop drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and material submittals. Obtain necessary approvals before execution.
• Procurement and Material Management: Coordinate with the Purchase Team to ensure timely material availability. Monitor stock, consumption, shortages, wastage, and material reconciliation.
• Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project costs, labour expenses, subcontractor bills, and material consumption against approved budgets.
• Billing and Variations: Ensure timely preparation of measurement sheets, RA bills, and supporting documents. Track extra items, variations, billing certification, and payment follow-ups.
• Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable electrical standards, and site safety requirements. Monitor inspections and close snag lists.
• Progress Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project progress, manpower, material status, billing, delays, risks, and corrective action plans.
• Testing and Commissioning: Coordinate electrical testing, commissioning, and required inspections.
• Project Handover: Ensure completion of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, and all handover documentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience with electrical contracting companies, including responsibility for project execution and site management.
• Experience in large commercial buildings, hospitality projects, or mission-critical electrical projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, electrical drawings, specifications, quantity measurements, rate analysis, and project billing.
• Familiarity with critical power systems, UPS, DG synchronisation, and redundant electrical distribution for data centre projects.
• Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, site teams, subcontractors, and client expectations.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel. Familiarity with MS Project or Primavera is preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
