Job summary

IDOM in Bangalore is seeking a Design Engineer Electrical with BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and 4–15 years of design/consultancy experience for industrial projects. You will prepare SLDs, load lists, electrical room layouts, and wiring diagrams while applying ETAP for system studies and DIALux evo for lighting design.

You will ensure compliance with IS/IEC, IEEE, EN, NFPA, NEC, DIN, BS standards and work in a multinational team, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic engineering

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• 4–15 years of design/consultancy in industrial projects (power plants, oil&gas, steel mills).
• Experience with design deliverables: single-line diagrams, load lists, layouts, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare single-line diagrams and electrical room layouts.
• Develop electrical load lists and wiring diagrams.
• Create general arrangement drawings for electrical equipment and cable routing.
• Conduct system studies (load flow, short circuit) using ETAP where possible.
• Ensure compliance with IS/IEC/IEEE/EN/NFPA/NEC/DIN/BS and project-specific standards.

• We're in process of hiring high skilled professionals from 4 years to 15 years of experience.
• Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in design/consultancy preparing engineering deliverables in industrial medium/large projects, such as power plants, oil&gas facilities, steel mills, manufacturing plants, etc,
• Preparation and development of single-line diagrams.
• Preparation of electrical load lists.
• Electrical room layouts and general arrangement drawings for electrical equipment.
• Electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, etc), preferably with ETAP.
• Preparation of technical specifications and data sheets for electrical equipment.
• Lighting system design, including lighting calculations using DIALux evo.
• Earthing/grounding system design, including calculations using CDEGS.
• Lightning protection system design, including calculations.
• Cable sizing calculations and preparation of cable lists.
• Electrical equipment sizing.
• Preparation of wiring diagrams.
• Cable routing definition and coordination.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable international standards and codes, including IS, IEC, IEEE, EN, NFPA, NEC, DIN, BS and other relevant project-specific requirements.
• Prior experience in internatinal design engineering consulting companies.
