Job summary

Wisecor in Bangalore, India is seeking a Senior Design Engineer – Electrical with 8 to 15 years of experience to design high‑voltage systems, switchyards and substations in line with international codes and standards.

You will lead a team of electrical engineers, prepare SLDs and layout drawings, select protection schemes, size electrical equipment and evaluate bids for electrical packages across power plants and energy projects.

Qualifications

• Expertise in power system electrical design and high-voltage systems.
• Experience with switchyards, substations, and T&D networks.
• Proficiency in SLDs, layout drawings, and protection schemes.
• Hands-on in tender evaluation, equipment sizing, and technical reviews.

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of high-voltage systems, switchyards, substations, and transmission & distribution systems in compliance with international codes & standards.
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of bids for various electrical packages.
• Prepare key Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and layout drawings.
• Select control and protection schemes as per project requirements.
• Perform electrical equipment sizing for Transformers, Switchgears, GCB, Bus ducts, DG sets, UPS, and DC systems.
• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Expertise in power system electrical design and engineering of high-voltage systems, switchyards, substations, and transmission & distribution systems.
• Experience in equipment/system specification, single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, power system studies, cable routing, earthing & lighting layout, switchyard, and substation layout.
• Proficiency in design calculations for electrical equipment sizing and earthing calculations.
• Hands-on experience in specification preparation, tender evaluation, and electrical equipment drawing review.
• Industry experience in Power Plants, Oil & Gas is a must.
• Immediate joiners preferred.
