Job summary

MAN Truck & Bus India Pvt. Ltd. invites a drivetrain design engineer to join the Cabin and Chassis team in Pune.

The role focuses on designing drivetrain components, validating concepts, and ensuring compliance with GD&T and PLM processes. The candidate will work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive robust product development. Ideal for engineers with 2–4 years of experience in mechanical design, strong CATIA V5 skills, and a solid understanding of casting and sheet metal design.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
• Understanding GD&T and PLM tools like Windchill/Enovia.
• Knowledge of casting, sheet metal design, and automotive systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop drivetrain components such as gearboxes, axles, gears, and shafts.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D CATIA V5 models for assemblies.
• Conduct packaging studies and design feasibility analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers on changes and releases.
• Support engineering change management and product documentation.

Your Tasks –

Design and develop drivetrain components and assemblies, including gearbox peripherals, axles, gears, and shafts, using CATIA V5.

Perform concept development, packaging studies, design feasibility, and support testing activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers for engineering changes, product releases, and documentation.

Ensure designs meet GD&T, manufacturing, quality, and product development requirements.

To ensure that you will-

• Design and develop drivetrain components like gearbox peripherals, axle, gear, shaft and associated assemblies.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models in CATIA V5.
• Perform packaging studies, concept development and design feasibility investigation.
• Collaboration with cross functional teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Support engineering change management, release process and product documentation.
• Experience: 2 to 4 years
• BE / B.Tech / M.E / M. Tech: Mechanical / Automobile
• Strong knowledge of automotive system and components.
• Experience in Casting and Sheetmetal design and manufacturing Process.
• Testing Knowledge: Understanding of drivetrain system and component-level testing.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 for 2D drawing and 3D modelling.
• Knowledge of PLM tools like Windchill / Enovia.
• Good understanding GD&T geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Proficiency in MS Tools SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Product development Life Cycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel internationally for business requirements.
• Basic understanding of AI tools.
