Job summary

Ericsson Noida, India, is seeking a Technical Authority Expert — SRF SCM RAN to lead software upgrades and configuration changes for the RAN (2G/3G/4G). You will drive change management, coordinate with NOC, RF and vendors, and ensure post-upgrade validation and KPI-based improvements.

The role requires strong GSM/4G/5G knowledge, hands-on Ericsson/Nokia RAN experience, and a proactive approach to maintaining service quality and SLA adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of GSM, 4G, and 5G technologies and cloud-based RAN architecture.
• Hands-on configuration experience with Nokia and Ericsson RAN equipment.
• Experience with change management and SLAs/WLAs.

Responsibilities

• Execute and own RAN software upgrades and configuration changes per change management processes.
• Prioritize and handle work requests to meet SLA/WLA objectives; manage workload and escalations.
• Prepare and validate upgrade/change plans, rollback procedures and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with NOC, field engineering, RF, software teams and vendors to schedule upgrades with minimal service impact.
• Perform post-upgrade validation, KPI checks and troubleshooting for LTE cells.
• Monitor service KPIs and interpret results to guide corrective actions.
• Maintain change logs, configuration records and documentation.
• Organize in-house training, create runbooks and backup plans for continuity.
• Participate in technical reviews and propose improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Join our TeamAbout this opportunity:The Technical Authority Expert — SRF SCM RAN is responsible for planning, executing and owning software upgrades, configuration changes and related service quality activities for the RAN (2G/3G/4G) within the operations organization. The role ensures change activities meet SLA/WLA targets, follow correct methodologies to avoid outages, and include post upgrade verification and troubleshooting.What you will do:• Execute and take ownership of RAN software upgrades/updates (BSC, eNodeB) and configuration changes according to approved change management processes.• Prioritize and handle assigned work requests to meet SLA/WLA objectives; manage workload and escalations.• Prepare and validate upgrade/change plans, rollback procedures and risk assessments prior to execution.• Coordinate with cross functional teams (NOC, field engineering, RF, software teams, vendors) to schedule and perform upgrades with minimal service impact.• Perform post upgrade validation, KPI checks and troubleshooting for downgraded or impacted sites, especially LTE (4G) cells.• Monitor key service performance indicators (e.g., accessibility, retainability, throughput, RRC success, handover metrics) and interpret results to guide corrective actions.• Maintain accurate change logs, configuration records and documentation for all activities performed.• Organize in house training, create runbooks, and maintain backup plans to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.• Participate in technical reviews and recommend process or configuration improvements to enhance stability and service quality.• Ensure strict compliance with safety, security and operational procedures to prevent outages caused by incorrect methodology.The skills you bring:• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).• Strong Fundamental Knowledge of GSM, 4G, and 5G Technologies, with a good understanding of emerging telecom technologies, cloud-based RAN architecture, and upcoming advancements in the telecommunications domain• Hands-on Configuration Experience with Nokia and Ericsson RAN Equipment, including RAN network configuration, parameter management, feature implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support across different network technologies.• Proven ability to troubleshoot post upgrade site issues, particularly LTE down site or degraded performance cases.• Good knowledge of service network/application characteristics and KPIs, and ability to interpret KPI trends to diagnose problems.• Familiar with change management, release management and operational SLAs/WLAs.• Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.• Experience with vendor tools and OSS platforms used for RAN configuration and monitoring preferred“All academic credentials must be from recognized and accredited institutions and are further subject to verification.”Why join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity.
