MANDATORY REQUIREMENT — U.S. EXPERIENCE

About the Role

We are seeking a Director, Design to build and lead a high-performing Architecture and Engineering capability within a global design delivery organization.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing a technically rigorous architecture organization capable of delivering U.S.-standard design documentation, technical design development, construction documentation, detailing, constructability, and multidisciplinary coordination.

The role will work closely with U.S.-based design leadership and will be responsible for building and scaling a large technical delivery organization in India.

Candidates must have significant professional experience working on U.S.-based architecture/construction projects.

Experience must include working with U.S. construction documentation standards, building codes, detailing practices, coordinated drawing production, and U.S.-based project teams/stakeholders.

Candidates whose experience is limited to India, Middle East, or other non-U.S. markets will not be considered.

The JD specifically requires deep expertise in U.S. construction documentation standards and the ability to operate as an India-based counterpart to U.S. design leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and build the Architecture & Engineering delivery organization.
• Serve as the senior technical authority for architectural design and documentation.
• Establish architectural documentation, detailing, drawing-set and QA/QC standards.
• Oversee coordinated architectural drawing packages through Design Development and Construction Documentation.
• Drive technical excellence, constructability and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Standardize workflows for seamless collaboration with U.S.-based design teams.
• Lead production planning, resource utilization and delivery performance.
• Establish quality-control checkpoints and reduce rework.
• Drive KPI-based performance management around quality, productivity and deadlines.
• Evaluate digital design tools, automation and AI-assisted design workflows.
• Ensure workflows align with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud and enterprise systems.
• Build, mentor and scale a high-performing architecture organization.
• Establish training frameworks, competency standards and career progression.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional architecture experience.
• Mandatory U.S. project experience.
• Strong experience with U.S. construction documentation standards and detailing practices.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• Experience leading 50+ person architecture/engineering teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Strong understanding of building systems, constructability and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience building/scaling design teams and technical training programs.
• Experience managing delivery against schedules and budgets.
• Experience using ERP/digital systems for operational performance.
• Experience with model-based documentation and digital design environments.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong experience working across U.S.–India time zones.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership approach.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is not simply a senior architect. We are looking for a technical and operational leader who has already worked within the U.S. design/construction environment and understands how to build a scalable delivery organization around those expectations.

U.S. project experience is mandatory.
