JD_Sr. Project Manager/Project Manager
About this Opportunity:
We're a trusted backend operations partner for one of the United States' largest and most innovative construction companies and have set up a Global Delivery Center (GDC) for this construction company. This GDC is the backbone behind some of America's most complex, high-visibility infrastructure and commercial projects which range from landmark towers to mission-critical facilities.
As the GDC enters a rapid expansion phase, we are building a world-class team of engineering professionals who work from Gurugram to drive real-world impact on U.S. construction sites. This is your opportunity togain deep expertise in American construction practices, project engineering discipline, and VDC strategy, all from Intec office in Gurugram.
This is not a traditional CAD/Revit position. As part of this GDC, your work begins after LOD 300. You will transition from production modeling into strategic project engineering — owning change orders, submittals, RFIs, and quantity take-offs that directly affect project profitability and schedule.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking talented individuals eager to be part of one of the largest projects in the US construction sector. This role is a launchpad into senior VDC leadership, providing direct exposure to US general contractors.
If you are ready to move beyond modelling and step into project engineering, this is your opportunity to grow while shaping real-world projects.
Job Description: Senior Project Manager – Project Engineering:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical management of GDC project engineering delivery, owning change order review, submittal and shop drawing review, RFI management, document control, quantity take-offs, and owner requisition processing for assigned US project sites. The Senior Project Manager acts as the primary bridge between the executive leadership, the client, and the field operations. Successful candidates will be able to share their passion for and dedication to getting the job done.
Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end project engineering support for assigned US commercial and civil job sites — change order review and cost-impact validation, submittal and shop drawing review against contract specifications and design drawings, and RFI pre-screening and technical drafting for the design team.
Administer document control systems (Procore, Primavera P6) to maintain hyper-accurate drawing logs, revision tracking, and contract archives across all active projects.
Lead quantity take-offs and estimation across structural, MEP, and civil disciplines to support pre-construction, bidding, and change management.
Manage the owner requisition cycle — gathering, verifying, and submitting payment requisitions to keep project billing and cash flow on schedule.
Oversee material tracking and site logistics coordination, monitoring subcontractor procurement timelines and delivery schedules in partnership with the US site team.
Directly supervise, train, and develop all team members assigned to the project engineering vertical across every tier, from entry-level engineers to team leads.
Schedule and facilitate all project coordination meetings, including daily/weekly update calls with US-based project managers and site leadership.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all major project issues and priorities; prepare and submit weekly job status reports to executive leadership.
Maintain quality assurance / quality control standards and protocols company-wide and on individual projects, including for BIM/VDC deliverables (Revit, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks) feeding into project engineering workflows.
Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project; maintain all project records and monitor correspondence.
Serve as the primary point of contact for initial estimating efforts on new engagements — scoping the hours and resources required for successful execution — and support the BD team on related proposal responses.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at both the GDC and US entities.
Identify opportunities to apply process automation and AI tooling to change order tracking, submittal logs, RFI workflows, and other project engineering processes.
Basic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; a graduate degree in engineering or business is a plus.
8–12+ years of US commercial or civil construction experience; prior experience within a Global Capability Center (GCC) / Global Delivery Center (GDC), or the India delivery arm of a US general contractor or AEC firm would be strongly preferred.
Hands-on working knowledge of Procore and Primavera P6 for document control and scheduling, and of Autodesk Revit, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Navisworks for coordination with the VDC team.
Demonstrated, hands-on experience in at least three of: change order review, submittal/shop drawing review, RFI management, quantity take-offs/estimation (structural, MEP, or civil), and owner requisition processing.
Project Management accreditation or industry affiliation (e.g., PMP, CCM) preferred.
Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish, including direct exposure to US-based general contractor site operations.
Skilled at negotiating and developing relationships with multiple stakeholders across time zones, with comfortable overlap into US business hours.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team; minimum 5 years of supervisory experience leading multi-tier engineering or BIM/VDC teams of 15 or more.
Strong written and verbal English for formal correspondence, RFI drafting, and technical documentation.
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Alignment to GDC Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams and followership, sets direction and executes.
