Job summary

Tractebel, part of ENGIE, is seeking a Lead Civil Design – Substations in Gurgaon on site. You will lead the structural design of substations up to 220 kV, develop foundations, and mentor a team of engineers across multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in civil and structural design of substations.
• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; a Master’s preferred (Civil/Structural/Energy).
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro for analysis and design.
• Working knowledge of IS/BS/IEC standards for substations.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of substation structures up to 220 kV and above using STAAD.Pro.
• Develop civil and structural designs for equipment foundations and control buildings.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications for substations.
• Review designs for code compliance against IS/BS/IEC standards.
• Design pile-type and conventional foundations for substations.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers on civil design deliverables.
• Represent the company in technical discussions with clients.

What You'll Do

• Lead the structural design of substation structures up to 220 kV and above using STAAD.Pro.
• Develop civil and structural designs for equipment foundations, control buildings, and support structures.
• Prepare structural drawings, design calculations, and technical specifications for substation projects.
• Review and validate designs from internal teams and external vendors for code compliance.
• Design pile-type and conventional foundations for substation structures.
• Guide and mentor a team of engineers on civil design deliverables across multidisciplinary projects.
• Represent Tractebel in technical discussions with clients and provide expert structural guidance.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Energy Studies is preferred.
• 15 or more years of experience in civil and structural design of substations.
• Strong proficiency in STAAD.Pro for structural analysis and design.
• Working knowledge of IS, BS, or IEC standards for substation structures.
• Familiarity with PLS Tower or PLS CADD is an advantage.
• Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in professional project environments.
