Job summary

Team Computers is seeking a Desktop Engineer for its Nagpur location. You will diagnose hardware faults on desktops/laptops, perform OS installation and repair, and support office automation software and Outlook. You will assist with network cabling, ticketing, and L1/L2 IT support for peripherals, while maintaining asset inventories.

The role requires hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting, basic network config, and strong ticketing discipline to resolve incidents efficiently.

Qualifications

• Hardware fault diagnosis and isolation on desktops and laptops.
• OS installation, repair, and re-installation as required.
• Office automation software, anti-virus, and email clients support.
• Knowledge of network cabling and cross-over crimping; use of ticketing tools.
• Provide L1/L2 technical support for desktops, peripherals, and printers.
• Log incidents via ticketing system and manage user accounts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, Internet connectivity issues.
• Configure switches, routers, access points, and firewalls at a basic level.
• LAN cable testing, crimping, punching, and patch panel tasks.
• Understand IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and basic routing concepts.
• Coordinate with ISPs for connectivity and monitor network availability.

JD as follows

• Hardware fault diagnosis & isolation on desktops / laptops.
• Installation and OS Support - Repair / Re-Installation or fresh Installation
• Installation and Software Support on Office Automation software, Anti-virus software, Email Client (Outlook), IE, Chrome & other Business Critical Applications
• Knowledge of network cable color coding & cross-cable (crossover) crimping
  Ticketing tool usage
• Network cable crimping and punching
• Provide L1/L2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals..
• Perform software installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Manage user accounts, system configurations, and access-related issues.
• Maintain IT assets and update hardware/software inventory.
• Log, track, and resolve incidents through the ticketing tool.

Network Support:

• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, Internet, and network connectivity issues.
• Basic configuration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.
• Perform LAN cable testing, crimping, punching, and patch-panel-related activities.
• Understand IP addressing, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, and basic routing/switching concepts.
• Coordinate with ISP and network vendors for connectivity-related issues.
• Monitor network availability and elevate critical issues to the Network/IT team.
