Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) invites an experienced IP Instrument Panel designer to join our interior trims team. You will own end-to-end IP design for New Product Development, from concept through production release, and manage multiple programs.

Proficiency in CATIA V5 (Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Assembly, Drafting benches) and strong knowledge of interior trims, vehicle architecture, and ground-up plastics design are required to deliver production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end IP Instrument Panel design for new product development.
• Experience managing multiple programs from concept to production release.
• Strong technical capability and ability to work independently.

Domain knowledge

• Interior Plastic (soft/hard) Trims - [Instrument Panel (IP) assembly comprising - Main Substrate Lower, Upper, Defroster Panel and Box, Knee Bolster, Sealing Foam, Air Duct, Console Duct Adapter, Center Stack, Finish Panel and etc & Door Trims assembly]
• Interior Structural- [Cross-Car Beam (CCB) assembly comprising design responsibility with Sheet Metal Bracket for the end-to-end design of CCB/Sheet parts/brackets such as IP Center Support, Reinforcement IP Center Upper, Steering Colum, IP Support Lower and Upper, Air bag Support and Mounding, IP End Support, PDL Support, Brackets, and etc]

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:

• Ability to perform for end-to-end design on New Product Design for (NPD) Instrument Panel (IP) commodity.
• Experience with multiple programs, managing project work from concept through production release.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to work independently.
• Excellent in CATIA V5, including Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Assembly, and Drafting workbenches.
• Conversant with Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Aggregate Groups, Sub-Groups, Systems and Sub-Systems.
• Expertise in Interior Trims Design and Development Door Trims, Hard Trims, IP etc.,
• Ability to ground-up design of all trims (Plastics) components through detailed design and delivery into production.
