Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) in Chennai seeks an experienced CAD engineer with Catia V5/V6 expertise to design and develop interior components. You will translate requirements into robust 3D models and precise 2D drawings while applying GD&T guidelines.

The role requires hands-on design work, collaboration with manufacturing, and the ability to adapt to dynamic project needs. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Catia V5/V6 proficiency required.
• Experience in at least one New Product Development project.
• Hands-on design and development of interior parts.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to create 2D/3D drawings.
• Good communication and ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute Catia V5/V6 design tasks for interior components.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models per specifications.
• Ensure GD&T compliance on all parts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize processes.
• Support team in improving product design efficiency.
• Maintain clear communication across teams.

• Excellent Catia V5/V6 Skills
• Should have completed at least 1 New Product Development project
• Hands on experience in design and development of Interior parts.
• Good Knowledge on product and manufacturing process
• Good Communication skills
• Knowledge of GD&T & hands on experience on 2D/3D Drawings creation required.
• Ability to work /handle parts & interior commodity Independently.
• Able to interact, analyze and create parts as per design Rules & requirements.
• Good Team Player and flexible to work in any streams of work as per dynamic requirement that may change from time to time
• Should be able to understand and willing to work under any challenging and tough environments
• Aid team improving the performance and efficiency of existing product design.
