Job summary

Kirtanlal Engineering in Nagpur district, Maharashtra, seeks a Forging Design and Product Development engineer with a Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and hands-on forging experience.

You will develop forging components, 2D drawings, and 3D models per customer needs, and support NPDS from feasibility through handover. The role requires strong CAD skills, PPAP familiarity, cost estimation, and ability to coordinate cross-functionally for continuous improvements in design and process.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 78 years of relevant experience in Forging Design & Product Development.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD design and modeling.
  • Hands-on experience in forging design and new product development.
  • Knowledge of product and process development for forged components.
  • Experience in PPAP documentation including Process Flow Diagram, Process Plan, and Control Plan.
  • Ability to perform RFQ feasibility, cost estimation, and part weight calculation.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering and process development documentation.
  • Knowledge of document control, revision control, and drawing management.
  • Understanding of external standards, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; focus on continuous improvement.
  • Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify forging component designs, 2D drawings, and 3D models as per customer requirements.
  • Support new product development activities from feasibility and design through process development and production handover.
  • Prepare and review forging-related design and process documentation.
  • Prepare RFQ feasibility, part weight calculations, and cost estimation for new and modified components.
  • Prepare and maintain PPAP documents and ensure timely completion of development documentation.
  • Review engineering drawings and ensure compliance with GD&T, customer specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams for successful product development.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in product design, forging processes, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Maintain proper drawing, document, revision, and change-control records.
  • Support technical problem-solving related to forging design, manufacturability, and process development.
  • Ensure smooth handover of developed products to manufacturing for serial production.

Experience
