Job summary

TVS Motor Company in Hosur, Tamil Nadu is seeking a senior NPD - CMB - R&D engineer to drive interior and exterior design improvements. You will perform FEA, mould flow and stamping simulations and develop design alternatives that meet DFX, packaging and cost targets.

With 7–9 years of experience in automotive NPD, you will create 3D CAD masters, review BOMs, and coordinate with IP and ECM teams to resolve issues, while leading process improvements and design manuals aligned with company

Qualifications

• BE or PG in relevant engineering discipline.
• 7–9 years of experience in NPD/R&D (interior and exterior).
• Proficient in FEA, mould flow, and stamping simulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide design alternatives considering DFX, interfacing and packaging requirements.
• Create 3D master CAD and initiate workflow.
• Perform preliminary mould flow and stamping simulations.
• Review BOM and provide updates where applicable.
• Analyse feedback from ECM system to resolve complaints.
• Prepare implementation plans for ideas (PACE).

Job Purpose

• Perform initial FEA, Mould flow / Stamping simulation for design improvement.
• Resolve customer complaints.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide design alternatives considering DFX, interfacing and packaging requirements.
• Create 3D master ( CAD ) and initiate workflow.
• Perform preliminary mould flow, stamping simulations, suggest design improvements for FEA simulations.
• Create 3D master and provide inputs for design improvements using design guidelines.
• Review design for modularity index, part communisation and provide inputs using design guidelines.
• Provide cost down & weight down plan for sub systems.
• Review special characteristics linked to AQ, MBQ.
• Review BOM and provide ADD DEL wherever applicable.
• Conduct FDR for applicable parts, sub systems and benchmark study.
• Check supplier drawing for proprietary parts.
• Study and understand test requirements as per TSES.
• Prepare concept prototype & r eview patent feedback closure and close FTO along with IP team.
• Analyse and resolve customer complaints through ECM system.
• Prepare implementation plan for PACE ideas.
• Approve CAD for accessories and implement through NPD, ECM system.
• Prepare, Revise design manuals, standards and checklists, consolidate as a design input sheet.
