Job summary

TVS Motor Company in Hosur seeks a Design Engineer - Interior & Exterior to develop and optimize parts using DFMEA, DVP and DFx concepts. You will perform FEA and Moldflow simulations, review BOMs and supplier drawings, and drive design improvements for cost and weight efficiency.

The role focuses on robust, manufacturable designs aligned with TVS quality standards. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, CAD mastery, and adherence to IP and AQ/TQT requirements,

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive design for interior or exterior components.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP processes.
• Knowledge of DFx concepts and packaging constraints.
• Proficiency in FEA, Moldflow and stamping simulations.
• Ability to review BOM and supplier drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design input sheets including DFMEA and DVP.
• Propose DFX-based design concepts considering packaging and weight.
• Perform preliminary FEA, Moldflow and stamping simulations.
• Complete IP checks and functional design reviews.
• Resolve customer complaints and drive design improvements.
• Approve CAD for accessories and support NPD/ECM workflows.
• Review BOM and ensure design guidelines compliance.
• Study test requirements per TSES.

Job Title / Role: Design Engineer - Interior & Exterior

Purpose of the role

• Prepare design input sheet, DFMEA,DVP
• Provide alternate design concepts considering DFX ( DFA,DFM,DFS),packaging,cost & weight requirements.
• Perform initial FEA, Moldflow / Stamping simulation for design improvement.
• Complete IP check, functional design review.
• Resolve customer complaints

Role Description

• Provide design alternatives considering DFX | interfacing and packaging requirements
• Prepare& Conduct DFMEA for parts and formulate DVP
• Create 3D master ( CAD ) and initiate workflow
• Perform preliminary mold flow | stamping simulations, suggest design improvements for FEA simulations
• Compile design input sheets considering PDD | AQ | MBQ | TQT requirements
• Create 3D master and provide inputs for design improvements using design guidelines
• Review design for modularity index | part commonisation and provide inputs using design guidelines
• Provide cost down | weight down plan for sub systems
• Review special characteristics linked to AQ | MBQ
• Review BOM and provide ADD DEL wherever applicable
• Conduct FDR for applicable parts | sub systems and benchmark study
• Check supplier drawing for proprietary parts
• Study and understand test requirements as per TSES
• Prepare design input sheet, DFMEA,DVP
• Provide alternate design concepts considering DFX ( DFA,DFM,DFS),packaging,cost & weight requirements.
• Perform initial FEA, Moldflow / Stamping simulation for design improvement.
• Complete IP check, functional design review.
• Resolve customer complaints
• Approve CAD for accessories and implement through NPD | ECM system
• Prepare | Revise design manuals | standards and checklists, consolidate as a design input sheet
