Job summary

TVS Motor Company in Hosur seeks an experienced design engineer to design and develop crankcases, transmission covers, and related structural powertrain components from concept to production. You will create CATIA 3D models, assemblies, and drawings and perform CAE-based validation across structural, thermal, and fatigue studies.

Qualifications

• B.E in Mechanical/Automobile Production Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of engine subsystem design and development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop crankcase, transmission covers, and structural components from concept to production.
• Create and release 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and documentation using CATIA.
• Perform simulation-driven design validation using CATIA CAE tools (structural, modal, thermal, fatigue, optimization).
• Lead DFMEA, design reviews, tolerance analysis, and ECR/ECN activities.
• Investigate customer complaints, field issues, warranty concerns, and validation failures; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Drive value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives through design, materials, and processes.
• Develop and implement new technologies, materials, and manufacturing concepts to improve performance and cost.
• Support prototype builds, testing, industrialization, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, sourcing, suppliers, service, and programs for project execution.

RoleDescription

1. Design and develop crankcase, Transmission covers, and associated structural components from concept to production.

2. Create and release 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation using CATIA.

3. Perform simulation-driven design validation using CATIA CAE tools, including structural, modal, thermal, fatigue, and optimization studies.

4. Lead DFMEA, design reviews, tolerance analysis, and engineering change management activities.

5. Investigate customer complaints, field issues, warranty concerns, and validation failures; identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions.

6. Drive Value Engineering (VE) and cost reduction initiatives through design, material, process

7. Develop and implement new technologies, design methodologies, materials, and manufacturing concepts to improve performance, durability, weight, and cost.

8. Support prototype builds, testing, industrialization, and production readiness activities.

9. Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, testing, sourcing, suppliers, service and program teams for successful project execution.
