Job summary

Jobitus is seeking a Deputy Manager - Production (Shift In-Charge) to lead end-to-end production activities in Machining and Assembly during assigned shifts. You will drive targets, quality, safety, and efficiency while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring OEE, managing manpower, enforcing SOPs, and implementing Kaizen/5S/TPM. The role requires 12–14 years in automotive manufacturing and strong leadership on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Total experience 12–14 years in Automotive/Auto Components/Manufacturing.
• Minimum 4–6 years’ experience leading production shifts independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all production activities during the assigned shift for Machining and Assembly operations.
• Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets as per plan.
• Monitor OEE, productivity, downtime, and cycle times.
• Enforce SOPs, work instructions and quality requirements.
• Manage manpower deployment, shift scheduling, and workforce utilization.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Stores, Planning and Engineering.
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean, TPM initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis for production, process and quality issues.
• Train operators, technicians and team leaders for skill upliftment.
• Ensure SHE guidelines and company policies are followed.
• Drive continuous improvement projects for productivity and cost optimization.
• Review production reports and MIS data for reviews.
• Support new product development, process validation, and trials.
• Comply with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and customer requirements.

The Deputy Manager - Production (Shift In-Charge) is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end production activities during assigned shifts across Machining and Assembly operations. The role ensures achievement of production targets, quality standards, safety compliance, manpower productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent will coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, and ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining adherence to company procedures and customer requirements.

• Drive adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Manage manpower deployment, shift scheduling, and workforce utilization to maximize productivity.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Stores, Planning, and Engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and TPM initiatives.
• Monitor machine utilization and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, process, and quality issues.
• Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) guidelines and company policies.
• Train and develop operators, technicians, and team leaders to enhance skill levels and operational excellence.
• Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap levels and implement actions to achieve quality targets.
• Drive continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, and cost optimization.
• Review production reports, shift performance reports, and MIS data for management review.
• Support new product development, process validation, trial runs, and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and customer-specific requirements.

Profile Requirements

Personal Background:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Total experience of 12-14 years in Automotive / Auto Components / Manufacturing Industry.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in independently handling production shifts.
• Automobile / Auto Components / Manufacturing/ Industrial Equipment / Heavy Engineering
• Experience in Assembly, Machining, Production Planning, Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong leadership experience in managing shop-floor manpower and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent coordination skills.

• Strong knowledge of Machining Operations including CNC Turning, VMC, HMC, Broaching, Grinding, and Manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of Assembly Processes, Torque Management, Poka-Yoke Systems, and Error Proofing Techniques.
