Job summary

Schneider Electric SE is seeking a Deputy Manager – R&D in Vadodara with 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience. The role focuses on life cycle management of LV switchgear, design for manufacturability, and certification testing.

You will work with tools like PTC CREO, Ansys, SAP, and AutoCAD to deliver reliable electrical solutions. Candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical and hands-on experience with type testing, BOM creation, and SAP-based documentation.

Qualifications

• Life Cycle Management (LCM) of moulded case circuit breakers.
• Design for manufacturability considerations in product development.
• Complaint resolution through analytical tools, 8D, FMEAs; Six Sigma tools. Basic Six Sigma QC tools preferred.
• Oversee type testing and certification testing of LV switchgear distribution boards and MCCB panels per IEC61439-1 & 2.
• Provide reliable solutions to product management for features, specs and quality.
• Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings, BOM, GA, SOP, and change notes using SAP to support product development.

Responsibilities

• Design & development and life cycle management of LV switchgear products (DFM).
• Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools and simulation; use software to validate designs.
• Understand IEC/IS standards and certification/test requirements; support product certification.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables (Min 4 need to be filled in decreasing order of importance)

1. Life Cycle Management (LCM) of moulded case circuit breakers
2. Design for manufacturability
3. Complaint resolution through analytical tools, 8D approach, FMEAs, Six Sigma Tools. Basic knowldege of Six sigma QC tools preferred.
4. Looking after the type testing and certification testing of LV switchgear distribution boards and MCCB panels as per IEC61439-1 & 2.
5. Responsible to provide reliable and adequate solutions to product management (Product marketing and International Sales) for special requirements and queries related to features, specifications and quality of the distribution system.
6. Preparation of 3D models, 2D drawings to convey design intent, Bill of Material (BOM), GA drawings, Instructions sheets, SOP for production of electrical standard products, engineering change notes, product improvement notes and corrective action reports using SAP system to adhere the product development system.

Functional Competencies

1. Design & development, Life cycle management of low voltage switchgear products (Design for manufacturability).
2. Having knowledge of software like PTC CREO, Ansys, SAP, Corel draw, Simulation software’s, SAP-PLM, SAP-PPM, Auto-Cad. The role is suitable and exciting for candidates having problem solving approach.
3. In-depth understanding of the relevant IEC & IS standards & experience of LV switchgear. Experience of certification and Type testing is preferred.
