Overview

Position

Position Title: Deputy Manager – R&D (MV – ESE)

Work Location: Ahmednagar

Educational Qualification & Exp: B.E/ B.Tech (Mechanical/ Electrical) with 3 - 7 yrs of experience.

Key Deliverables

1. Design and development of medium voltage switchgears.
2. Providing technical expertise in product performance, and reliability.
3. Conducting Type tests as per IEC for MV products at third party labs like CPRI, ERDA, CESI, in-depth knowledge of IEC std.
4. Conducting inhouse verification & validation for medium voltage equipment
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to successful completion of V&V activities.
6. Follow V&V program to ensure new package/product release to production within timeline.

Functional Competencies

1. Develop and Implement V&V Plans: Create detailed verification and validation plans, including test strategies, test cases, and acceptance criteria, based on product requirements and specifications for MV switchgear up to 36kV.
2. Design and Execute Tests: Design, set up, and execute a wide range of tests.
3. Type Tests: Short-circuit withstand, lightning impulse withstand, power-frequency withstand, temperature rise, mechanical endurance, IP rating, etc., according to IEC and other relevant standards.
4. Routine Tests: Dielectric tests, resistance measurements, mechanical operation tests, etc.
5. Functional Tests: Operational performance, interlocking mechanisms, protection system functionality, etc.
6. Environmental Tests: Temperature cycling, humidity tests, vibration tests (as applicable).
7. Test Equipment and Instrumentation: Select, configure, and maintain test equipment and instrumentation required for accurate and reliable testing. Ensure proper calibration and functionality.
8. Data Acquisition and Analysis: Collect, record, and analyze test data. Prepare comprehensive test reports documenting the test setup, procedures, results, and any deviations or failures.
9. Identify and Resolve Issues: Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work collaboratively with design and production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
10. Standards Compliance: Ensure that all verification and validation activities are conducted in compliance with relevant national and international standards (e.g., IEC 62271 series), customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
11. Documentation and Traceability: Maintain accurate and traceable records of all V&V activities, including plans, test procedures, test reports, and defect tracking.
12. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production engineers, quality assurance, and sales/marketing, to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
13. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving V&V processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
