Job description

This position will be for Ahmednagar factory for Lauritz Knudsen Electrical & Automation (A unit of Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd.).

Designation: Deputy Manager – Manufacturing Engineer
Qualification: Diploma / B.E/ B.Tech
Experience: 4 to 6 years
Role: To supervise and coordinate shop floor manufacturing activities for allocated shift (3-shift operations), ensuring production targets, quality requirements, safety standards, and manpower utilization are achieved. The role involves direct management of contract labour, machine operations, shift coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance of contract workers.
  • Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Maintain production reports, shift logs, downtime records, and manpower reports.
  • Prepare daily production and efficiency reports for management review.
  • Execute production plans as per schedule and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all plant safety regulations and PPE requirements. Investigate near‑miss incidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and promote a zero‑accident culture.
  • Monitor machine utilization (OEE), productivity, FTY and process efficiency (under TQM & TPM Culture) & take necessary corrective actions for deviations.
  • Coordinate with labour contractors for manpower availability and statutory compliance.
  • Ensure contract workers follow company safety rules, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and process parameters.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks and on‑the‑job training, due to Floating / Contract workers.
  • Reduce rejections, scrap, and rework through process control.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards following 5S principles.
  • Identify training needs and support skill development.
  • Resolve shop floor issues and employee grievances in coordination with HR.
  • Drive Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of production, quality, and safety records.
  • Support internal and external audits

  • Production target achievement (%).
  • OEE performance.
  • Labour productivity.
  • Quality rejection rate (FTY & RTY). Sustain QCC culture on Shopfloor.
  • Safety compliance and incident reduction.
  • Machine uptime (TPM – JH & KK Pilar).
  • Attendance and manpower utilization (Productivity).
  • 5S audit score.
  • Schedule Adherence – Right Time, Quality & Quantity.
