Job summary

Sigma Engineered Solutions is seeking a Deputy Manager - Post Foundry - MFE to oversee post-foundry and fettling operations at our Chakan, Pune site. You will analyze customer designs, coordinate trials, review control plans, and ensure high-quality metallurgical results.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 15+ years of experience in post-foundry/metal casting environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, SIX SIGMA, AI, and QMS systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer design specs and understand project scope.
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize process design for cost and efficiency.
  • Monitor design verification and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify tooling and equipment needs for post-foundry and fettling operations.
  • Prepare costing sheets and coordinate with RFQ team for accuracy.
  • Oversee post-foundry processes to ensure mechanical properties meet specs.
  • Supervise surface finishing and machining to achieve required tolerances.

Job description

Name of Position: Deputy Manager - Post foundry -MFE
1.Job Objective :-

To analyze customer design specifications, monitor design verification, oversee cost review, implement various post foundry process, surface finishing, process design activities, monitor product development progress as per APQP GCR, coordinate trials, and review control plans to ensure efficient and high-quality post-foundry operations.

2.Key Role & Responsibilities :-
  • Analyze customer design specifications and requirements to understand the scope of the project.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure that the process design is optimized for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Monitor design verification activities to ensure that the process design meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Identify and specify the required tooling and equipment for post-foundry and fettling operations.
  • Capture customer voice and ensure incorporation with design for manufacturing process.
  • Prepare costing sheets and review in correspondence with RFQ team for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze the cost breakdown and identify areas for cost optimization and value engineering.
  • Validate the accuracy of cost estimates provided to the RFQ team and customers
  • Oversee the implementation of post foundry processes to ensure optimal mechanical properties of casted components.
  • Manage surface finishing operations to achieve desired aesthetics and functional requirements of casted parts.
  • Supervise machining activities to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances are achieved on casted components.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment in post-foundry operations.
  • Assess the post-foundry materials and right equipment, ensuring availability for smooth operations.
  • Participate in recruitment activities & ensure retention / engagement of own team.
  • Set performance objectives of own team, evaluate / appraise team members and provide regular feedback & guidance.
  • Guide, mentor and develop own team to take larger and complex responsibilities.
  • Evaluate training and development requirements for own team and make recommendations for learning interventions.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, SIX SIGMA, AI, QMS system, etc
3.Qualification & Experience Required :-

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. having 15+ experience.
