Job Objective
To work in the Engineering Department and manage new part development from RFQ to handover as per APQP processes, aligned with customer requirements and industry best practices, supporting the organization’s growth plans.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering
- Experience: 6–8 years
- Preferred: Ferrous Foundry industry experience
- Strong exposure to New Part Development, Production, and Process Improvements
- Experience in the Automotive industry is mandatory
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, and GD&T
- Ability to independently design processes and prepare RFQ costing
- Hands‑on experience with 2D/3D tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards
- Experience in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans
Key Responsibilities
RFQ & Costing
- Study customer drawings and conduct feasibility and ballooning analysis
- Design manufacturing processes and prepare cost‑effective RFQ costing
- Perform value engineering, yield optimization, and cost analysis
PPAP & New Product Development
- Lead PPAP activities ensuring compliance with customer requirements
- Streamline NPD processes to optimize development time and cost
- Ensure on‑time APQP closure
Process & Project Management
- Review costing and coordinate with Senior Leadership for approvals
- Ensure project execution as per defined timelines through regular reviews
- Manage designing and prototyping activities including 2D/3D drawings, FMEA, and layout plans
- Resolve issues across APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, and layout stages
- Drive product quality improvement through re‑engineering, process improvement, and automation
KRAs & KPIs
Process Excellence
- Timely APQP and PPAP closures
- Adherence to NPD and tool planning timelines
- Accurate and timely MIS and documentation submissions
Customer Satisfaction
- ECNs closed as per schedule
