POST A RESUME HR Consultancy is seeking a Fettling Supervisor in Sanand (Ahmedabad) to oversee fettling operations, ensure adherence to quality specs, and drive productivity across shifts.

The role requires hands-on experience in sand casting, core making, and fettling processes, with leadership skills to manage a team and improve first-pass yields. Salary is negotiable and location is on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands-on fettling experience in foundry or heavy engineering.
• Strong knowledge of sand casting processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Leadership and manpower management.
• Problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, production reporting).
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise fettling operations including gate cutting, grinding, shot blasting, dressing and visual inspection.
• Monitor productivity, minimize rework and excessive grinding.
• Coordinate with Quality and Dispatch for inspection and timely movement of finished castings.
• Ensure proper segregation of accepted, rework, and rejected castings.
• Allocate manpower efficiently across shifts and achieve daily targets.
• Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift planning; monitor equipment utilization and maintenance.

Job description

Fettling Supervisor

• Plan and supervise all fettling operations including gate cutting, grinding, shot blasting, dressing, and visual inspection.
• Ensure castings are finished according to customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Monitor productivity and minimize rework and excessive grinding.
• Coordinate with Quality and Dispatch teams for inspection and timely movement of finished castings.
• Ensure proper segregation of accepted, rework, and rejected castings.

Production & Operations

• Allocate manpower efficiently across shifts.
• Ensure daily production targets are achieved.
• Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift planning.
• Monitor equipment utilization and report maintenance requirements.
• Reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Quality

• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Identify recurring defects and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with Quality and Production teams to improve First Pass Yield.
• Maintain rejection and rework records.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Enforce PPE compliance and safe work practices.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles.
• Report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily production reports.
• Track rejection, rework, and productivity data.
• Maintain core consumption and fettling performance records.
• Report manpower utilization and operational issues to management.
