Role Summary
The Deputy Manager – MEP Design will oversee mechanical and electrical design for residential and commercial real estate projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and authority requirements. The role includes reviewing consultant deliverables, coordinating with cross‑functional teams, supporting procurement and commercial functions, and ensuring timely design approvals and execution support.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical:
- Good understanding of local and international design standards, code & local authority requirements.
- Sound knowledge of design calculations such as electrical load estimation, short circuit, voltage drop, equipment selection.
- Experience reviewing design documents from service consultants.
- MEP infrastructure design capabilities.
- Experience in space planning and schematic design of systems.
- Knowledge of lift traffic analysis.
- Experience with ETAP, Dilux software.
- Coordination with HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical, PA system, CCTV system, BMS, communication system.
- Review and approval of consultant/contractor shop drawings and material submittals.
- Attend site visits and respond timely to RFIs and site queries.
- Coordinate with commercial and procurement teams for cost inputs and tender technical discussions.
- Participate in meetings and discussions with valid inputs.
- Technical review of products for rate contracts.
- Coordinate with liaising departments and prepare documentation for authority submission.
- Provide real‑time solutions where possible.
- Maintain trackers, design compliance reports, etc.
- Managerial:
- Monitor and control project deliverables from consultants and contractors.
- Manage internal & external stakeholders.
- Prepare microschedules for deliverables.
- Review consultant invoices and variation claims.
- Manage resources for in‑house work.
- Motivate the team to complete projects effectively and timely.
- Handle technical queries efficiently.
Qualifications
B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical.
Experience
- 8–10 years in MEP design, electrical and ELV services within the real estate industry, preferably with Grade A developers handling residential and commercial projects.
Key Skills & Competencies
- AutoCAD knowledge for review of drawings with basic drafting skill.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and decision‑making skills.
- Team player with a positive approach to change.
- Stakeholder management.
